Job Summary
We are seeking a Nurse Manager in our Duke Vascular Specialist of Raleigh and Duke Vascular Specialists Endovascular Center located in Raleigh to manage and coordinate patient care and personnel needs in Duke Health Integrated Practice ambulatory care clinic
Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Manage two types of nursing services delivered within the clinic. Ensuring that staff are cross trained in both programs and in the lab.
- Manage various personnel activities including orientation, hiring, evaluations, assessing competency, and training, scheduling/staffing, counseling and conducting formal discipline for all clinical staff.
- Collaborate in the development, implementation and expansion of learning opportunities and skill development for all staff. Must analyze, develop and maintain an effective and efficient nursing care delivery system that reflects the needs of patient and family population of the clinic ensuring desired outcomes.
- Work side-by-side with clinical staff and participate in the education of patients and their caregivers.
- Collaborate with nursing peers in ambulatory care to promote nursing education and develop/introduce new initiatives for ambulatory care. Work closely with other nurse managers as resources and be able to mentor others as well.
- Identify clinical operational needs; manage appropriate levels of supplies and monitor equipment maintenance. Assess the environment and make recommendations to ensure optimal patient comfort, safety, and compliance with regulatory agencies.
- Collaborate with the Health Center Administrator to determine fiscal requirements for the specific clinic; predict and recommend for budget equipment and supply needs, staffing needs to safely care for the patient population. Exemplify excellent customer service with direct peers and patients; and throughout the organization. Exhibit effective communication and problem solving skills.
- Identify, develop, and implement performance improvement processes to enhance clinic operations and practices for QI. Monitoring and analyzing monthly data (BSC, Press Ganey) and determining improvements and enhancing best practices based on this data.
- Develop, document, implement, and monitor written policies and procedures reflective of the standard of care, PDC mission statement, and clinic objectives. Work in conjunction with other clinic managers to include but not limited to the HCA, SAM, and Program coordinator and be able to provide coverage and clinic oversight in the absence of these.
- Perform other related duties.
- Work requires graduation from an accredited BSN
- 3 years of nursing experience required
- 2 years of experience in a procedural care area with conscious sedation.
- 2 years of Vascular surgery experience required
- Must have current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina. BLS required.
