Community Engagement Coordinator VISTA

Complete a year of service as an AmeriCorps VISTA in Duluth, MN! The Community Engagement Coordinator VISTA will support Duluth Community School Collaborative in 3 major areas:

• Events: Collaborate with our staff to plan and implement in-person family and community engagement events at our three school sites (Myers-Wilkins Elementary, Lincoln Park Middle School, and Denfeld High School) and at community sites.

• Communication: Support communication efforts to reach families, students, community members, and community partners, including through an organizational newsletter, social media, website, blog posts, and individual outreach.

• Volunteers: Assess volunteer needs and opportunities to expand and improve programming through volunteers at each school site. Recruit and retain volunteers through our communication channels and partner organizations.

As an AmeriCorps VISTA member, you will earn a small bi-weekly living allowance (currently $575.40 every 14 days, which amounts to $15,002 for the year of service) and have the option to receive a $6,495 Segal Education Award at the completion of your service term or a ~$3,000 cash stipend instead.

As part of the Ecolibrium3 VISTA cohort in northeastern Minnesota, you will have additional opportunities for professional development, training and connections with other VISTAs in the area.​

Duluth Community School Collaborative is located on a bus line, and though a car is recommended as you will sometimes travel between our school sites, it is not necessary for the position.
