“Duo” (Member Advocate) 

Part-time position 
Flexible schedule: requested 15 hours per/week; schedules between 9 am - 6 pm EDT Monday through Friday are strongly preferred and typically the preference of our members.

Who You Are

Your friends call you a giver.  You love helping others, especially those who need it the most.  You enjoy meeting new people and forming meaningful relationships.  People inherently trust you because of your warmth, empathy, and ability to listen without judgment.  

You consider yourself tech-savvy and a self-starter. You enjoy being independent at work, yet you know how to ask for help when you need it. You may have other responsibilities in your life, yet you have the consistent time to support the deliverables of a part-time job. 

You have extensive experience taking care of people, perhaps as a parent, caregiver, volunteer or in your professional career.  You’ve worked with individuals who come from diverse backgrounds and life experiences and have enjoyed learning from them.  

What You Do as a Duo

As a Duo, your overarching goal is to build and maintain trusting relationships with your assigned members and their families.  More specifically, you:

• Provide much-needed companionship to your members via regular phone calls
• Use the training and tools we provide you to connect your members to resources they really need to help them live happy, healthy, independent lives - this includes everything ranging from free meal programs to discounted transportation options and much, much more 
• Support your members in strengthening their own self-advocacy, goal-setting, and personal growth
• Regularly share feedback, learnings and ideas with your Duos teammates to help us continually improve the way we serve our members
