You’ll be:
- Providing training, counseling, and mentoring to the Insurances Services team as it relates to providing customized advice, products and services.
- Leading the Insurance Services team with regular coaching to insurance managers and employees to enable them to successfully carry out the goals and objectives of the department.
- Building relationships with and providing education for various departments throughout the credit union to increase quality insurance referrals.
- Developing, implementing and tracking individual and departmental goals, strategies and incentives for the Insurance Services team as well as the credit union’s strategic plans.
- Managing and maintaining relationships with key vendors/carriers for an optimal blend of value and options in which to place members business for their financial protection.
- Working with a scope of credit union departments including marketing, compliance, accounting, regional branch managers, the Senior Leadership Team, and others to establish ongoing working relationships designed to promote alignment between the agency and the credit union.
- Ensuring that the department has adequate resources to achieve its strategic goals.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant statutory and industry requirements and codes.
- Ensuring the development, monitoring and controlling of revenue and expenditure budgets
- Acquiring new clients and retaining and building relationships with existing clients according to the strategic plan.
- Providing excellent member service to help adequately and economically meet clients’ insurance needs.
- Presenting recommendations and options to clients and to agree and receive instructions on their implementation.
- Ensuring that clients are provided with Insurance Schedules if and as appropriate.
- Ensuring timely and favorable settlement of claims.
- Keeping clients appropriately informed of all matters related to their insurance.
- Monitoring and maintaining client service standards.
- Acquiring and maintaining a sound knowledge of clients’ industries, businesses and risks.
- Developing and maintaining an appropriate knowledge of the insurance industry, markets and products.
- Preparing and executing policy documentation that implements clients’ instructions.
- Performing other duties or projects as assigned.
- Ensuring Dupaco Insurance Services procedures are maintained and kept up to date.
You’ll need:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Finance or related field and 5 years of insurance industry experience.
- Hold Series 6 & 63 securities licenses, with desire to obtain Series 7 license within one year of employment.
- Personal, commercial, and life & health insurance licenses
- Supervisory experience, required.
- Excellent listening, verbal and written communication, and presentation skills.
- Excellent problem solving ability.
- Knowledge of laws and regulations governing insurance.
- Knowledge of business financial statements and cash flows analysis.
- Ability to systematically gather, read, retrieves, and interprets data from reports and personnel in order to make effective decisions.
- Ability to prioritize, organize time, and to work independently.
- Ability to assume responsibility and solve problems at the executive level.
