What are the responsibilities and job description for the Master Scheduler position at Dupont?
Overview: Accountable for creating monthly and weekly production requirements and inventory plans that meet demand requirements from the DIBM Planning process. Utilizes capacity analysis and customer service policies to govern schedules and finished product inventory plans. Responsible for creating and executing master scheduling time horizons and periods in accordance with business strategies and policies. This role is responsible for master plans and interacts with multiple sites. Works with Operations, Commercial, Technical resources, material planners, schedulers, and Customer Service. Responsible for continuous improvement of the master scheduling process and performance.
Responsibilities:
- Develops the constrained Master Production Schedule at the material level across the planning horizon considering all demand, supply and inventory requirements for production
- Implement, execute, and maintain Master Production Schedule (MPS) policies to ensure stability and responsiveness.
- Maintains and provide valid Available to Promise (ATP) data.
- Identify and resolve conflicts with supply and demand and available capacity within the production horizon.
- Utilize “what if” simulations to evaluate proposed MPS changes to determine impact and execute the approved changes effectively.
- Recommend disposition of non-productive inventory as appropriate.
- Identifies options for optimization of MPS plans due to business constraints and customer delivery performance expectations.
- Work with Customer Service to ensure deliveries occur as stock becomes available and communicates revised availability.
- Participate with manufacturing and/or technology in the structure of Material Master/BOM’s/recipes.
- Lead the monthly supply meetings and attend others as required in support of the DIBM process.
- Key interface with sales, demand management, customer service, marketing, engineering and production for the purpose of satisfying customer requirements and providing policy advocacy to the business.
- Key interface back to Master Planner, Asset Scheduler and Material Planner when required.
- Responsible for key master production planning metrics, root cause and corrective action.
- Maintains accurate data to support the master scheduling process (lead times, lot sizes, product wheel, and other operating rules and conditions).

Qualifications:
- BS/BA degree in Supply Chain, business, or technical field. And/or
- APICS certification, and/or
- 2-3 Years work experience and demonstrated capability in planning and organizational skills
- Six Sigma Green Belt certification required
- APICS Certification preferred (may be obtained on the job; recommended completion of Modules 1 and 3 within 9 months)
- Operations, scheduling, and planning experiences are preferred
- Six Sigma Black Belt and/or certified Lean Practitioner preferred
- Lean 3-day overview training (may be obtained on the job)
- SAP / APO / BW (or equivalent) preferred
- Manufacturing Experience preferred
- Prior: Material Planner, Asset Scheduler, Area Engineer, Operations Supervisor, Distribution Leader/Planner, Product Planner/Coordinator, Six Sigma BB
- Future: Master Planner, Supply Chain Manager I, Mfg Leadership, Sourcing/Logistics Leadership, Sales and Marketing, Six Sigma BB and/or Lean Practitioner
