We are looking for a Site PDM Leader for our Richmond, VA site.
This position provides technical expertise and oversight for resident predictive reliability engineering, predictive management programs and infrastructure program leadership. Including assessment and monitoring of process equipment, lubrication analysis, and program improvement efforts for both equipment reliability and site infrastructure committee and teams. The individual in this position also responsible for reliability studies on existing equipment and recommends needed improvements in the areas of equipment philosophies, strategies, and best practices for asset productivity. This position focuses on enhancing equipment reliability through analysis versus first response or day-to-day trouble shooting of failed equipment.
Your key responsibilities:
Apply engineering theory, practices, and principles to perform failure analysis, such as RCFA and 5-Why, to determine root cause of equipment failures and conduct equipment performance evaluations.
Develop, lead and maintain reliability networks and share best practices, successes and failures. Leverage network learnings to improve Reliability at the plant site.
Interface with COE reliability team to ensure continuity with strategic DuPont goals.
Actively seek personal development and continuing education opportunities. Utilize professional organizations (e.g., SMRP) and reliability conferences to keep current on and evaluate new and emerging technologies for their applicability back at the plant site.
Provide Reliability Leadership, coaching, and support to area production personnel related to early work identification, Standard Operating Procedures, and practices impacting general/overall machine health.
Continually promote consistency by standardizing procedures/equipment/operations within area of responsibility.
Identify and support training needs for maintenance technicians and others supporting Reliability and Maintenance functions.
Oversight and Execution of the following program tasks:
Vibration Monitoring
Identify equipment and measurement points for selected equipment.
Study equipment records, blueprints, and manuals for developing the computerized machine database.
Develop and keep current the machine database in the Machinery Health Manager PC software.
Arrange equipment into logical monitoring routes. Establish and maintain route info in SAP.
Understand how to establish proper equipment vibration monitoring (routes and ad hoc troubleshooting) using portable data collector.
Ability to analyze vibration data and historic trends to diagnose equipment problems. Document review results. Interface with plant M&R Engineers and CoE consultants regarding diagnosis when necessary.
Perform follow-up field inspections for identified problems
Generate repair notifications (type 006) to make prescribed repairs by set due dates.
Identify recurring problems and involve appropriate personnel for correction.
Keep software up to date and vibration analysis equipment calibrated.
Oil Analysis
Ensure collection and documentation of machine and oil information and ensure it is correctly reflected in the oil laboratory database.
Implement proper lab analysis packages and sampling interval with input from plant M&R Engineers, CoE consultants and analysis lab.
Establish and maintain sampling route info in SAP.
Understand and oversee proper collection of oil samples sent to laboratory for analysis.
Utilize history on machine maintenance and oil replacements, providing necessary info to analysis lab.
Download and interpret oil analysis reports, document results and prescribe recommended actions and due dates. Interface with plant M&R Engineers and CoE consultants regarding diagnosis when necessary.
Perform follow-up field inspections for identified problems
Generate repair notifications (type 006) to make necessary repairs by set due dates.
Identify recurring problems and involve appropriate personnel for correction.
Keep LOAMS software up to date
Program oversight and improvement
Track and report route compliance info.
Identify and implement predictive maintenance program improvements including:
Implementation of Shock Pulse Analysis
Reliability Maintenance:
Rotating Equipment Overhaul Support
Development of overhaul scopes with assistance from M&R and Technical group engineers and CoE consultants as necessary
Assist in identification of needed parts for site executed work
Interface with vendors performing overhauls (QA, progress tracking and problem liaison)
Documentation
Identification and implementation of improvements
Preventive maintenance programs for specific pieces of equipment
Including entry into SAP
Facility design improvements (via MOC process with technical involvement)
Maintenance work practices and tooling improvement (e.g., alignment [including alignment thermal growth offset implementation], balancing, lubrication storage and transfer)
Troubleshooting
Involvement in Incident and Unscheduled Downtime Investigations (upon request)
Failure diagnosis / general troubleshooting [for significant/special needs - not to supplant GM “5 Whys”]
Infrastructure:
Lead infrastructure site team
Development of infrastructure core team
Develop team progress reports
Review and priorities site infrastructure project list
Review infrastructure improvement plans
Ensure thorough scope is provided for all infrastructure improvement plans
Engage with active improvement projects for support
Engage with infrastructure contracting resources
Review contractor effectiveness
Ensure contractor goals are met
Qualifications:
BS degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical or Instrument depending on their work focus)
5-10 years of maintenance reliability work experience in the refining / petrochemical /materials industry
Basic understanding of the principles of:
Data analysis techniques and statistical interpretation skills
Reliability analytical tools such as Weibull analysis, reliability growth plots, and data modeling
Failure analysis including preservation of evidence techniques
Maintenance and reliability best practices including the work management process
Rotating equipment and alignment techniques
Basic Materials Science including material selection and properties
Lubrication, tribology, and fundamentals of interpreting oil analysis results
Vibration analysis and interpretation of vibration analysis reports
Fundamentals of nondestructive testing including thermography
Uptime metric and how to use the Upbase® software to extract operating data
Equipment Life Cycle Cost Analysis
Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA)
Engineering design standards and their application
Cost/Capital analysis and justification
Reliability Engineers are encouraged to get CMRP certified (Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional)
Demonstrated ability to:
Organize work and manage multiple activities
Communicate and interface with other individuals and organizations (on and off plant) orally and in writing
