CUSTODIAL SUPERVISOR
CATEGORY/LEVEL: PSS/10
BASIC FUNCTION: Oversee all custodial functions and events set up to maintain established standards and meet customer expectations. Typical hours for this position are 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday-Friday with availability for events set up. At times, this position requires overtime and/or work outside of regular hours, including evenings and weekends.

SALARY AND BENEFITS: Starting salary of $54,000 to $66,200 based on qualifications and experience. Benefits package includes Blue Cross/Blue Shield major medical health insurance; eye care, dental, life and disability insurance; paid vacation and sick leave; a choice of IPERS or TIAA retirement plans, and a variety of additional optional benefits.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of two years postsecondary education and three years of related field and supervisory experience. Must be a positive team member and team leader.
PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS: Lift, carry, push and pull objects which weigh up to 50 pounds frequently (vacuums, shampooers, chairs, garbage) and heavier objects occasionally (furniture, tables, staging). Bending, kneeling, crouching and crawling, along with considerable walking and standing, are required.
EQUIPMENT USED INCLUDES: Snow plow, snow blower, sanding truck, tractors, forklift, skid steer, shovels, hand tools, electrical testers, floor care equipment, and platform lift. Must be familiar with and utilize cell phone and personal computer.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
• Provide the organization and supervision for all shifts of custodial personnel, including selection, assignment, direct field supervision, training, maintaining checklists, and performance evaluations.
• Provide the organization and physical effort involved with the preparation, set up and clean up of classrooms, conferences, and special events in a timely and effective manner.
• Oversee all operations associated with maintaining the interior of facilities to established standards, including furniture moving and assembly, accessory repair and maintenance, events set up, food and beverage deliveries, and organizing personnel and equipment for custodial operations in a timely and responsive manner.
• Select, purchase, and utilize appropriate products and equipment in the most efficient and economical means, ensuring usage and maintenance according to manufacturer’s recommendations and to the advantage of the College.
• Provide responsive, effective service, responding promptly and efficiently to the needs of the College and its customers.
• Follow all local and national safety codes, regulations, and established procedures. Participate in safety trainings as directed.
• Develop and maintain a good working relationship with the Director of Facilities; maintain regular verbal and written communication with staff in person, via email, and over the phone.
• Provide input to Director of Facilities for future and ongoing projects to help meet the needs of the College.
Perform in a manner which strengthens the coordination and cooperation of all organizational components of the College, including opportunities for student recruitment.
