The Role
As Assistant Controller you will be a leader on the Finance team. It is your responsibility to provide the company with financial insight and accountability by creating timely GAAP financial statements. To accomplish this you will guide the time and talents of the Finance team and roll-up your own sleeves to remove obstacles that stand in your way. You will be setting the foundation for the company’s first audit.
Additionally, you will provide support and guidance over operational accounting to make sure transacting with Dwelo is a seamless experience. Most of all you will be joining a down-to-earth team that works closely together to achieve outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Direct the team’s efforts during month-end close
- Weekly, lead continuous improvement initiatives by tracking, prioritizing and resolving process and system issues
- Periodically, create technical accounting memos and associated process changes
- Regularly, coach and develop several direct reports
- As needed, collaborate with cross functional leaders on system changes and upgrades
- Be a key player in many audit readiness projects
- Provide support to operational accounting teams and systems
Requirements
- You are a licensed CPA
- You have a couple years of audit experience
- You have several years of industry accounting experience
- You have managed and developed a small team
- You have been responsible for the month-end close process
- You come from either a SaaS or inventory company
- Even better if you have Netsuite and Salesforce experience
- You have a successful track record of coordinating many simultaneous projects and staying organized through it all
