Role: Tech Lead Marketing Merchandising 2
- Location: In US, must be onsite in either Buffalo, New York or Schenectady, New York
- Must work US Eastern Hours (9 AM – 5 PM EST)
- US citizen or GC or H1B
- Resource will be dedicated to US Merchandising Systems Consolidation
Mandatory Proven Work History - 3-5 years of proven work experience.
Technical Skills/Experience
- Technical Leadership
- Mainframe JCL/COBOL in MVS, z/OS
- Retail/grocery systems knowledge
- GNU Cobol a plus
- Ability to develop technical specifications, test plans, validation, and resolution
- Ability to create Technical Design Document from a Functional Requirement Document and create test plans with validations
- SDLC Methodologies, Waterfall, Agile, Hybrid
- Mainframe and or midrange programming experience an extreme plus
- DemandTec, Pricing, promotions, and any supply chain, marketing and merchandising systems experience is an extreme plus
- The Technical Leader is responsible for the “technical aspects” of a project, but not the project management thereof. In general, a PM is responsible for ensuring all deliverables related to a project are completed. If there is uncertainty regarding roles and responsibilities, a PM or Technical Leader can reach out to the program office for more guidance
- The TL needs to be proactive and reach out to the PMs to ensure involvement and less rework
- Who executes certain steps may vary based upon the composition of the individual project team. In general, Technical Leaders are responsible for:
- Leading daily (or as needed) stand up meeting with technical team supporting:
- Answering technical questions and removing technical barriers
- Noting business questions and reaching out to the PM to assist with resolution
- Escalating technical issues to the PM that could impact the solution, delivery time or business
- Assisting PM with understanding impacts of technical solution changes so proper change control can be executed and documentation updated
- Supporting the PM in completing the Architecture Review Board checklist and Infrastructure intake forms and the implementation checklist
- Ensuring solutions adhere to Notice of Decisions’ intent
- PMs are responsible for communicating Notice of Decisions
- Overseeing the completion of the technical design and context diagrams
- Representing projects in Architecture Review Board meetings
- Participating in various project walkthroughs
- Confirming proper code reviews are accruing prior to putting changes into production
- Assist PM in the development of the overall Test Plan including System Integration Testing (SIT), Performance and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure that Dev team can support execution of the user testing
- Ensuring that system integration test cases are documented and executed according to the test plan as developers complete
- Leading and organizing demos for business, as appropriate, to demonstrate functionality prior to UAT
- Creating and participating in technical reviews typically done by the Technical Leader
- PMs are ultimately responsible to make sure the technical reviews are scheduled
- PMs need to provide direction on dates, dependencies, business confirmations etc. PMs should reach out for help of Account /Tower PMs or Technical Leaders for this, if required
- Client facing – working to determine merger, integration, and testing requirements
- Creating Technical Design Documents from Functional Requirement Documents
- Creating test plans with validations and executing them
- Following standards
