We are CLIA-certified laboratory that strives to improve patient care through our innovative technology. At Dxome, we manufacture screening panels and detection kits for different types of cancers. By utilizing Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) and Real-Time PCR, Dxome aims to enable early treatment which leads to higher survival rates for cancer patients.
Job Title: Laboratory Assistant

Job Summary:
The Laboratory Assistant will perform general laboratory duties by assisting the CLS in completing testing according to lab and safety protocols. A laboratory assistant will assist in performing various basic laboratory procedures to facilitate production. This is an entry level position that entails working in a clinical laboratory processing Covid -19 samples and assisting with Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) procedures.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Sort and receive specimens in the laboratory.
- Assists with pre-analytical activities such as routine cleaning and sanitation of lab. benches and instruments, restocking of consumables, inventory, entering data into LIMS.
- Ensures that all specimens that are received are labeled appropriately and that they match the labels on the requisition to ensure that there are no issues with patient identity and reporting.
- Record the required information in laboratory logbooks, specimen accession sheets to ensure quality assurance of specimens.
- Labeling specimens, printing labels, recording date, operating equipment, storing, and retrieving specimens for testing.
- Performs proper storage of specimens before & after testing including properly discarding specimens according to SOP and as instructed by the Lab Supervisor.
- Perform clerical duties as assigned by CLS.
- Perform equipment maintenance tasks to keep it in clean and operable condition.
- Keep track of inventory and order supplies as needed.
- Report problems and concerns relating to proper functioning of the laboratory.
Experience & Required Qualifications:
- Associates degree or higher in biological or laboratory sciences, preferred.
- Previous experience in clinical laboratory or related work environment preferred.
- Must be able to multi-task, prioritize and manage time efficiently.
- Ability to work as part of a team, capable of working under deadlines without sacrificing quality.
- Self-motivated, well-organized, reliable.
- Good personal and outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to handle biological materials.
- Familiarity with CLIA and CAP regulatory requirements.
- Conduct activities in compliance with CLIA and other regulatory guidelines.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
