Responsibilities of the Shop Supervisor include, but are not limited to:
- Accountable for all pump, gearbox, and other rotating equipment repairs in shop
- Effectively lead and manage people resources as measured by safety performance, turnover, and employee development
- Oversee inspections of API, ANSI and other rotating equipment specs
- Oversee repairs and help assist in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and writing technical repair scopes
- Meet or exceed on-time performance
- Manage shop resources to meet labor hour budget
- Ensure all work is done efficiently following proper API Guidelines
- Work with general management and team to direct workflow through repair shop
- Review and approve order releases to the shop floor
- Escalate parts, manpower, and capacity concerns that affect schedule to project coordinator and/or General Manager
- Review and ensure required documentation for job progress is complete
- Monitor capacity and initiate manufacturing outsourcing as required to meet deadlines
- Work with assigned project coordinators, relaying job status and providing project timelines/schedules
- Participate and implement programs/procedures to improve processes, lead-time, production yields and delivery performance
- Manage the customer experience by occasionally acting as a point of contact for orders; Provide customer updates as requested
- Coordinate and work closely internal and regional management
- Oversee material requirements, planning and goods receipt
- Attend and actively lead and participate in order hand off meetings and accountability meetings
- Schedule labor to fulfill job deliveries/due dates
- Manage the preventive maintenance for equipment and machinery, including but not limited to lathes, mills, drill presses
- Extensive (5 year minimum) experience in pump services, mechanical and electrical equipment assembly and repair
- Employee management experience
- Ability to motivate team and accomplish goals
- Experience with repair and troubleshooting of pumps and rotating equipment
- Experience with mechanical seals and rotating equipment alignment
- Experience with repair and troubleshooting of diesel engines and large electric motors
- Some fabrication, pipe fitting, and/or welding experience preferred
- Safety Awareness is a MUST; The ability to safely evaluate a job and then execute a well thought out plan is required
- Ability to read and understand O&M and service manuals
- Organized and able to keep a clean work environment
- Team player who works well with others and can follow instructions without close supervision
- Must have valid driver's license, acceptable driving record according to company guidelines, able to pass a background check and drug test
- Experience with control panel startup and troubleshooting
