Background: Dylan Jude Harrell Community Center is a community based non-profit serving youth and families in Pacific County, with an emphasis on the Long Beach Peninsula. They are the lead entity for the Child Care
Planning Grant from WA Dept. of Commerce. We are seeking qualified consultant applications to lead planning and development work of the Pacific County Child Care Alliance on a contractual basis. The goal of this consultant will be to help facilitate the development of a coalition of providers, businesses, and parents in
Pacific County to provide viable solutions to the child care crisis. Working closely with Dylan Jude Harrell
Community Center, the consultant will lead efforts to analyze data, gather feedback, and develop a report and workplan for the PCCCA’s future work.
Timeline: estimated start date of January 20, 2024. All work must be completed by June 30, 2024
Compensation: $49,000
Project Scope: The consultant will be responsible for:
● Preparing a Community Needs Assessment
- Creating, distributing, and analyzing survey data from 200 employers
- Holding 2 community listening sessions
- Conducting 3 focus groups (parents, providers, employers)
- Conducting 8 key stakeholder interviews
- Analyze State Data
● In conjunction with PCCCA Leadership Team, Developing a Coalition Work Plan
- Creating a list of potential future funding opportunities
- Pilot Project feasibility study
- Addressing additional items determined in the needs assessment
● Create an Asset Map for potential childcare facilities
- Determine ages and locations of children in Pacific County.
- Determine current childcare/youth program facilities and capacity.
- Determine open spaces/facilities with potential for childcare/youth programs.
- Identify opportunities for childcare/youth program growth in the county.
Qualifications: a qualified candidate will
● Have lived experience in Pacific County
● Will have an understanding of systems that influence child care in WA State
● Will have experience with community feedback/listening
● Be willing to engage in critical conversations
● Have experience working on tight deadlines
● Be flexible
● Have proven history of completing projects related to community organizing
