Job Description
We are seeking a Data Visualization Specialist to join our team! This position would provide full-time support to our client, the Washington Metro Area Transit Authority (WMATA). This position would specifically support WMATA's SAFE Department as it looks to move the agency from a reactive to proactive approach to safety and developing tools and materials for staff use in safety risk management across WMATA.
Responsibilities
Utilize data visualization services to enhance the existing Safety Management System dashboard using PowerBI or Tableau.
Apply expertise in data visualization to incorporate safety risks, risk reduction measures, and and effectiveness/progress into an easy-to-understand design that builds on the work dashboard already established in WMATA.
Apply graphic design expertise to assist with the style, formatting, and illustrations associated with the publications that will replace the Metrorail Safety Rules and Procedures handbook.
Experience/Skills Requirements
4 years of progressive experience in data analysis, database management, and delivering oral and written reports
Experience using business intelligence tools PowerBI and/or Tableau
Excellent visualization skills, including demonstrated design knowledge such as layout, typography, color, interaction design, and fluency with Adobe tools
Ability to identify process improvement opportunities data automation, understand data sets, and quickly analyze and converse on findings
Perform detailed data analysis and offer documentation to support findings
