What You'll Do
Are the General Manager, you will lead and execute strategies ensuring the success of Dyno Nobel's TN, AL, & GA business within the priorities of: Zero Harm, People, Customers, Efficiency and Results. The position will set challenging goals for the region to deliver year on year safety, financial, and operational improvement. Other duties will include:
- Manages P&L and aggressively drives profitability by using financial reporting and metrics
- Leads the business in compliance with established procedures and guidelines in the areas of people, equipment, material and environmental, safety, cost performance, asset utilization, customer, product and service delivery
- Assessment, development, and management of talent in building a high-performance team
- Drive commitment to the IPL Talent Cycle through coaching, development, succession plans and mitigation of people risks across region
- Develop and execute business strategy based on a sound understanding of individual customer requirements, market segments, resources and an outstanding understanding of market dynamics
- Improve and expand customer relationships within the region leading to increased profitability
- Leverage deep knowledge of operations and markets to develop value selling strategies
- Effectively communicate with across the organization and matrix to leverage technical expertise with growth/improvement mindset to better service current and prospective customers
- Proactively engage with sites and teams face to face as frequently as possible
- Ensure that all changes (including people and engineering related changes) are managed according to identified Company management of change (MOC) processes
- Encourage and engage employees to develop ideas for improvements in operating and equipment that may contribute to improved efficiency and safety. Participate in testing and review of new ideas
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent. Additional directly related work experience may be substituted for some of the educational requirements.
- 10 years management experience, with 5 years at a Regional or Senior level, within a relevant industry
- Proven experience with sales and site operations as a regional manager or senior executive
- Ability to develop site operating plans and effectively execute them
- Experience with manufacturing of emulsion matrix, bulk truck delivery, and on-bench blasting operations.
- Experience with safety, environment, quality, maintenance, and training systems.
- Sound computer literacy, advanced use of Microsoft Suite
- Strong understanding and acceptance of responsibility for compliance to relevant OSHA, ATF, DOT and EPA standards
