What You’ll Do
Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will supervise and ensure optimum and safe operation in the following production units: Ammonia production units including storage facilities, product loading, and utilities area may include raw water treatment, process waste and domestic waste treatment, CO2 and Urea production units including storage facilities and loading, and nitric acid production plants. Other duties will include:

Demonstrate and be committed to the pursuit of achieving Zero Harm through behavioral based safety leadership.

Ensure compliance with applicable HSE performance standards, objectives and regulations

Works closely with the site leadership teams to ensure our business culture is driven by our company values

Supports BEx (continuous improvement) initiatives through active participation, including identification of efficiency and quality improvements in work processes and problem solving.

Direct activities in area of responsibility to attain maximum plant operating efficiency, product rate and product quality.

Track plant operating KPI’s – efficiency, energy usage, on stream time, cost/ton, production, environmental compliance, customer complaints, etc.

Manage operation within approved budget for controllable costs. Participate in annual budget process and develop budget for plants within areas of responsibility.

Write or participate in developing CEP’s for annual CAPEX spending.

Supervises and assists with training employees in the safe and proper operation of all equipment in process, storage and loading facilities.

Maintain good employee relations by explaining company goals and policies.

Facilitate all employee actions as required (scheduling, recognition and reward, discipline)

Conduct communication meetings.

Makes daily inspection of proper operation and condition of plant process and equipment. Ensures all units and areas are kept in clean and orderly fashion. Takes necessary action to correct and implement findings.

Coordinate with Maintenance Supervisors/Superintendents activities including repair work, turnarounds and modifications, within areas of responsibility.

Coordinate and implement Mechanical Reliability/Mechanical Integrity plan within area of responsibility.
What We’re Looking For:
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, or equivalent experience.

7 years of experience in plant operations with 3-5 years of which supervising personnel.

Experience with PSM and OSHA requirements for chemical manufacturing industry

Experience with analytical methods and quality control
-
Has mechanical aptitude and sound reasoning and analysis
-
Knowledge of state and regulatory requirements for environmental and emissions control
-
Experience working with emergency response and crisis management, incident investigation and root cause analysis

Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and team player.
