Nurse Practitioner, 32 hours per week

Program Description:

Northeast Health Services is a program of JRI contracted to provide comprehensive health care for adolescent males in residential detention and treatment placement at the Department of Youth Services in the Northeast Region.

Job Description:

The APRN will work as a member of the health care team in evaluating the individual health status of youth in residential placement at the Department of Youth Services, utilizing critical thinking and making independent judgements relative to primary care, and diagnosing and managing episodic and chronic illnesses. The APRN will collaborate with other members of the health care team to develop, implement and document a plan of health care utilizing the context of the youth’s life, culture and developmental stage.

Schedule: Flexible schedule which can be discussed further in interview.

Requirements:

  • Travel to all NE Programs is required.
  • Graduate of an accredited graduate nursing program.
  • Current license to practice as an APRN in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Current certification to practice as a Pediatric or Family Nurse Practitioner from an accredited body.
  • Valid DEA and MCS licenses for prescriptive practice.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Demonstrated experience providing health care to the adolescent population.
  • Will consider a new NP with demonstrated experience as a registered nurse with the pediatric and adolescent population.
