Position Summary:
The Accounting Manager is responsible for preparation of public filings, Sarbanes-Oxley and GAAP compliance, and other related general accounting practices. This is a hands-on position with direct responsibility for all of our accounting and reporting requirements and assisting with operational and financial efficiency. This position supports timely completion of financial information, and has responsibility for reviewing journal entries, reconciling accounts, researching GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley/control environment topics, as well as proposing resolution and/or treatment.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities:
· Assist with the management of accounting operations and month, quarter, and year end closes.
· Manage the preparation of all SEC filings and monthly/quarterly financial statements to support the company’s public filings on Form 10-Q, 10-K and 8-K, management, and Board presentations.
· Review financial statements, financial reporting package, and flux analysis for completeness and accuracy. Review account reconciliations for accuracy and completeness, maintaining GAAP compliance. Analyze general ledger variances for corrective accounting and/or operational improvements, efficiency, and accuracy. Perform technical accounting analyses as needed.
· Manage and review inventory for accuracy and completeness, as well as supervise and provide guidance to inventory accounting personnel. In conjunction with inventory accounting personnel, ensure standard costs and variance application are accurate and appropriate, and be finance department liaisons to the purchasing and manufacturing departments.
· Review journal entries for accuracy, completeness, and support.
· Maintain banking and investment manager relationship, monitor cash and investment balances, as well as compliance with the Board approved investment policy. Release weekly accounts payable payments.
· Prepare and manage stock-based compensation, including equity administration with the HR department.
· Provide insight to allow departments to make better strategic and financial decisions regarding resource allocation. Streamline repetitive and/or inefficient procedures and processes within the finance organization to yield more efficient and streamlined monthly closes.
· Participate and support the maintenance of Sarbanes-Oxley internal control certification requirements. Monitor compliance with ICFR framework.
· Review revenue contracts and customer setup for proper accounting treatment.
· Manage the General Ledger, Chart of Accounts, and monthly close within the ERP system.
· Support upgraded ERP implementation efforts.
· Complete special projects as requested, particularly related to implementation of new processes and accounting policies.

Required Items:
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting.
· CPA license.
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting operations.
· In depth knowledge of GAAP and SOX 404 compliance.
· Advanced Excel skills.
· Demonstrated ability to think strategically about the role of finance and accounting in supporting the company’s strategy.
· Experience in coordinating financial book closings, audits, and financial statement preparation.
· Proven success working well under pressure, highly organized with the ability to meet deadlines.
· Ability to work in an environment with continued process improvement and change.
· Strong Emotional IQ and interpersonal skills.
· Superb written and oral communication skills, specifically with the ability to succinctly and convincingly educate, engage and reach consensus on finance and operational functions/activities.
Preferred Items:
· SEC Reporting experience.
· At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
