About this Role:

ASSOCIATE DESIGNER – MEN’S AND WOMEN’S APPAREL

At Fair Harbor, we are looking for an Associate Designer to partner with the Design Director, Technical Designer and product development team to design and execute the men’s and women’s sportswear lines from initial concept through pre-production. This role will support the team in creating brand-right designs in line with the seasonal concept and Fair Harbor product ethos. The individual will be responsible for working directly with the Design Director and team to create dynamic sketches, original print mill cards, color pitching, technical flats, tech packs and follow up throughout the design process and product development life-cycle.

Responsibilities and Requirements:

• Work collaboratively with the Design Director, Director, Technical Design and Senior Product Development Manager to design and execute all seasonal products.
• Support Design Director in creating dynamic sketches for seasonal product, collaborations, and capsule collections.
• Create print and graphic layouts/mill cards including scale, color, and fabric specifications.
• Work with the team to create technical flat sketches and detailed tech packs to send to overseas partners.
• Support Director of Technical Design with measuring, spec entry and fit evaluations.
• Attend fittings and take notes for communication with factories.
• Manage the organization and filing of all design submits and approvals.
• Creative passion for design.
• 3 years of applicable sportswear design experience.
• Knowledge of garment construction, stitching techniques and washes.
• Strong knowledge of print creation including repeats, scale, and color pitching.
• Sharp eye for color and experience with the Pantone color system.
• Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite – Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Working knowledge of Excel for technical packages.
• An eye for current market trends.
• Detail oriented, highly motivated, and passionate about creating dynamic product.
