Summary:
The Warehouse Associate is responsible for checking incoming merchandise against invoices to identify shortages, damaged goods, and backorders and processing special orders. The Warehouse Associate must make sure the Warehouses, as well as storage and check-in areas are neat, clean, and orderly. The Warehouse Associate must price incoming merchandise and prepare packages for mailing. The Warehouse Associate is responsible for loading merchandise into customers’ vehicles, cleaning the restrooms, offices and areas on the sales floor and the use and maintenance of floor cleaning equipment.
The Warehouse Associate must perform all assigned tasks with sufficient speed and accuracy to avoid placing a disproportionate burden on other employees and having an adverse impact on the level of customer service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following but not limited to (other duties may be assigned);
Visually verify contents of shipments. Must use basic arithmetic skills to verify incoming merchandise against orders, invoices, shipping and packing documents to spot shortages, damaged goods, backorders, etc.
Communicate with management, employees, and delivery personnel. Advise your supervisor of shortages, damages, backorders, etc. Be alert for sales opportunities by paging a sales associate to assist customers. Report any complaints from customers to management. Make suggestions for procedure changes when you believe such changes will improve sales, profits, efficiency, and/or morale, etc.
Properly operate 2-way radio. Answer all pages that apply.
Load customer purchases into their vehicle while taking care to avoid damage and maintain excellent customer service.
Responsible for janitorial duties of bathrooms, offices and sales floor as assigned by management. Responsible for maintenance of sales floor using floor cleaning equipment. Perform other janitorial duties as assigned by management.
Keep Warehouse, storage, and check-in areas neat, clean and orderly. Maintain storage area for repair items, transfers, deliveries, special orders, etc. Responsible for stocking and cleaning customer loading zone.
Must safely operate loading, unloading, and transfer equipment (forklifts, pushcarts, computer, etc.). Must follow all safety precautions when loading und unloading freight.
Responsible for loading and unloading merchandise and materials. Must move merchandise weighing up to 100 pounds from receiving area to Warehouse and place it on shelves. Responsible for moving merchandise from receiving/Warehouse to sales floor. Responsible for assisting customers and sales personnel with heavy and bulky merchandise.
Properly price or label incoming merchandise.
Repair or mend broken and damaged tools and merchandise as assigned by management.
Follow all security procedures in Warehouse and check-in areas. Maintain proper security over invoices, purchase orders, and receiving forms.
Set up merchandise displays for promotions and other special events, as assigned.
Prepare packages for mailing.
Maintain up-to-date receiving file, as necessary.
Know the correct location of all products in stock. Use LFO standards to sort Ace truck.
Responsible for routine maintenance on receiving equipment, floor scrubber and buffer, etc. as necessary.
Work on special projects assigned by your supervisor after determining their priority in relation to your other responsibilities.
Follow all receiving procedures and company policies as determined by management. Follow company procedures regarding required signatures, forms, receipts, etc. Follow procedures for obtaining new tools, equipment as necessary.
Attend store meetings and training programs, as assigned by store leadership

Certificates and Licenses:
Current Forklift license issued by the Company is required to operate a forklift.
