About the position:
This is an exciting opportunity to apply classroom knowledge and learn new skills in the high tech industry. The Co-op will be a member of Product Development team. The team has developed many well-known devices, such as the Amazon Kindle Oasis and Amazon Kindle Paperwhite, ReMarkable eNote, etc.
The job requires applying general knowledge of engineering disciplines to advance the characterization and understanding of ePaper material systems. Projects include varied opportunities to design novel mechanical setups and characterize important process parameters during the conversion of ePaper films to display components using the latest E Ink technology.
Responsibilities:
- Work with the Product Development team to design new mechanical parts/systems to enable new processes/methods
- Characterize properties of ePaper display materials using physical and chemical methods
- Design test samples and experiments for systematic controlled studies
- Hands-on lab work to reliably and efficiently execute experimental plan and data collection
- Analyze data and share summaries and conclusions with team members
Qualifications:
- 2 yeas minimum education in BS program in Mechanical Engineering/ Materials Science &Engineering/Chemical Engineering/Macromolecular Science or Polymer Science &Engineering
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Working skills of Mechanical design tools, such as AutoCad, Solidworks
- Good foundation in basic engineering fundamentals such as physics and chemistry
- Curiosity and aptitude in problem-solving for in-depth technical exploration
- Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills
- Capacity to manage own schedule
