Computer Lab Instructor

Description

• Full-time Computer Lab Facilitator position for a high school computer lab environment
• Employment hours are Monday – Friday, 7:15 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
• 13.00  to 14.50 per hour
• 2020/2021 School Year

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and take attendance at the beginning of each class period
• Maintain and update seating charts for all students assigned to that computer classroom
• Facilitate instruction on an individual needs basis, regardless of subject matter
• Ensure all students are properly engaged and working on their computer courses
  • Walk the classroom whenever not instructing students
  • Keep students off social media, unauthorized websites, unauthorized electronic devices (cell phones are not permitted), etc.
• Classroom Management Responsibilities
  • Lab is a quiet working environment in which students work independently
  • Implement classroom management strategies to ensure students are not socializing
  • Implement classroom management strategies to ensure students are not being disruptive to the learning environment of others
  • Only permit one student out of classroom at a time
  • Enforce food and drink policies
  • Enforce all rules as described in the “Behavioral Consequence Chart”
• Computer/Tech Responsibilities
  • Lab instructor must be able to give additional test attempts to students, per campus policy
  • Lab instructor must be able to grade submitted computer courses for the issuance of credit, per campus policy
  • Lab instructor must be able to assign new computer courses to students, per campus policy
  • Lab instructor must be able to print and issue Course Completion Sheets for students
• Maintain a safe and clean classroom environment and watch for potential vandalism
• Be knowledgeable of lock-down and fire drill protocols
• Ensure students enter the classroom wearing and keep on their school uniform shirt
• Lab instructors that facilitate and instruct in the computer lab cannot engage in the following activities:
  • Personal activities of any sort, including (but not limited to) texting, emailing, gaming, web browsing, etc.
  • Prepping
    • This is not a prep hour for direct instruction courses
    • Grading and lesson planning must be completed during actual prep periods

Qualifications

• Must have a valid IVP Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card
• Must be 21 years-of-age or older
• Basic knowledge in computer, English and Math
• Must have experience with high school students

Salary : $13 - $15
