At Gallo our Advanced Team Leader is responsible for individual and team development, quality performance, cost parameters, and service to customers (internal and external). Works cross functionally with other departments to execute operations initiatives. Leads problem solving for area of responsibility and participates in cross functional problem solving. Responsible for a team of individuals with varying levels of experience and education. The Team Leader has experience in operations, manufacturing, distribution and supply chain processes and leads team members through initiative implementation and improving performance.
What You Will Do:
- Influences and/or directs teams across departments/shifts.
- Works cross functionally to implement projects
- Builds daily work plans.
- Provides real time status of floor activities to leadership and cross functional partners as needed.
- Understands and manages and workforce planning; approves timecards.
- Site coordinator for crisis management.
- Sets goals with and for team members to support business and personal development.
- Determines, writes and executes appropriate performance management action; aligns with Operations Manager and Human Resources.
- Promotes strong cross-functional collaboration.
- If applicable, promotes collaborative labor relations; participates in union business when necessary.
- Supports personnel investigations and root cause analysis and communicates with Human Recourses.
- Presents and proactively prepares communication materials with a future focus.
- Participates in strategic workforce planning.
- Understands the collective bargaining agreement (if applicable) and employee handbook and how to operate within its boundaries.
- Makes hiring decisions and mentors highly skilled technical operators and/or mechanics in talent selection.
- Coaches, mentors and develops team members. Completes performance assessment; conducts 1:1 meetings with team members.
- Leads changes; delivers and implements effective change management. Holds team accountable for adoption of changes.
- Compliance, Regulatory and Safety
- Teaches and coaches team members on adherence to Environmental, Health and Safety guidelines. Takes appropriate corrective action to address issues. Acts as Site Commander.
- Ensures GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
- Firm understanding of Serious Injury Fatality (SIF). Plans effective safety conversation by area based on data.
- Influences safety culture relative safe work practices and company safety and food safety policies. Ensures compliance with polices.
- Understands Process Safety Management/Risk Management Plan (PSM/RMP) and how to respond to issues.
- Identifies safety issues before they occur; proactive hazard recognition.
- Leads employee injury incident investigations and root cause analysis, or near miss/near hit incidents that could result in injury.
- Owns designated safety programs (mobile equipment, heat illness).
- Understands the reason behind actions and processes used in functional area.
- Advises internal department leadership on technical issues and provides options for resolution.
- Guides and teaches team members and entry team leaders on technical aspects of their function.
- Effectively uses LEAN practices.
- Identifies gaps in processes, writes standard work, performs Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and maintains quality standards.
- Identifies need for updates to policies and practices associated with managing impact of change Notice of Change (NOC) and Management of Change (MOC); partners with leadership to initiate.
- Budget Responsibility
- Directly impacts budget details.
- Creates budgets for usage and materials.
- Provides action plans to correct variance.
- Maintains satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.
- Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations.

What You Will Need:
- Bachelor's degree plus 2 years of production, operations or logistics experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of military operations and leadership experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High School diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 6 years of production, operations or logistics experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High School diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 6 years of military operations and leadership experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Successful completion of the Gallo Operations/Technical Management Program.
- 1 year of supervisory or managerial experience; demonstrates team building, leadership and mentoring skills.
- Required to work shifts as scheduled.
- Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

What Will Set You Apart:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering plus 2 years of production, operations or logistics experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Management plus 5 years of manufacturing operations management, or logistics operations management experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- 2 years of supervisory or managerial experience; demonstrates team building, leadership and mentoring skills.
- MBA or Master's Degree in Engineering.
- 2 years of technical production/operations or technical maintenance experience.
- Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing practices.
- Consumer Package Goods experience.
- Experience managing Quality standards in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience leading high performance work teams and providing motivation to achieve plan goals.
- Experience using a production work management system.
- Experience working in a Union environment.
- Experience working with Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and establishing sound maintenance procedures to assure equipment reliability.
- Robotics or controls experience.
- Environmental, health and safety experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.
- Experience interpreting an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and dealing with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Experience with MS Office Suite.
- Skilled at handling confidential or sensitive information.
- Experience working with all levels and functions within the Company.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt and overcome obstacles; stress tolerance.
