SUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Educational Audiologist provides comprehensive education audiology services. Responsibilities include evaluation of hearing, administering assessments/tests, consulting with and instructing students, teachers, and parents in techniques to improve impairment, monitoring student progress, and conducting treatment programs.


Hiring Salary Range:
$38,495- $49,417

Position Salary Range: $38,495- $86,676

ESSENTIAL JOB ELEMENTS:

Major areas of Responsibility and Duties Specific to this Job


1. Serve as a resource to the District hearing screening program for preschool and school-aged students.


2. Perform follow-up comprehensive audiological evaluations.


3. Perform auditory processing assessments.


4. Evaluate the necessity of hearing aids, cochlear implants, FM systems and other assistive listening devices.


5. Interpret audiological assessment results for parents, teachers, and other service providers.


6. Maintain records for screenings, referrals, follow up evaluations, and planning services.


7. Select and maintain audiological equipment.


8. Serve as a member of the IEP team in the evaluation, planning, and placement process. Make recommendations about placement, related services needs, and classroom environment modifications.


9. Ensure proper fit and functioning of hearing aids, cochlear implants, group and classroom amplification, and assistive learning devices.

QUALIFICATIONS:
AuD or PhD in School Audiology
Colorado Department Education Special Services
License in Audiology
Recommended but not required - Bilingual skills

SPECIFIC SKILLS RECOMMENDED:
Knowledge of RTI process
Knowledge of progress monitoring tools and techniques
Demonstrated ability to administer and interpret audiology evaluations
Demonstrated ability to provide evaluation results clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing
Demonstrated organizational skills
Demonstrated communication skills, both written and oral
