What are the responsibilities and job description for the IEP Coordinator/Site Coordinator position at Early Childhood Education Center?
Make a difference in a child's life as a Site Coordinator for the Early Childhood Education Center (ECEC) Troy Site. ECEC is a not-for-profit NYS Department of Education and OCFS approved school for children ages 3-5 with special needs. The Troy location has two self-contained classrooms and one integrated classroom with UPK. Expertise in child development, as well as knowledge of various disabilities and methodologies is necessary. The IEP Coordinator oversees the IEP development and compliance for the agency which consists of 10 classrooms over four Sites.
Successful candidates will exhibit the ability to interact with staff, families and students in a positive encouraging way, demonstrate a professional demeanor, patience, empathy and a positive attitude while possessing a strong desire to help others grow. Interpersonal, problem solving skills and commitment to the team model is required.
Site Coordinator Responsibilities:
- Ensures smooth functioning of Site
- Manages visitations of stakeholders; manages clinical placement, student teacher placements, student observations, CPS, OCFS, etc.
- Ensures classroom enrollment: referrals, visitations, enrollment of students
- Oversees/coordinates programming of students at Site: admission, placement, transportation, program reviews, district and county communication, Annual Reviews, discharge, etc
- Ensures that families are engaged with their child’s program.
- Supervises classroom staff (teachers, therapists, teaching assistants, aides). Ensures staff reviews/writes performance evaluations/ professional goals to provide regular feedback to staff.
- Provides for classroom coverage (substitutes, individual aides)
- Collaborates in the hiring of full-time staff; hires 1:1 aides and oversees orientation.
- Oversees health and safety of site; ensures regulations are met (SED, CMS, OCFS, DOH, etc.) and inspections/licensure is maintained at Site.
IEP Coordinator Responsibilities for all ECEC Sites:
- Monitors the development of IEP’s: PLEP’s, goal writing, goal monitoring, program modifications, and that IEP recommendations are implemented.
- Ensures consistent quality across sites for compliance of policies/procedures for IEP implementation and that providers are aware of their responsibilities.
Required:
- Masters in Special Education
- Leadership experience
Preferred:
- Teaching experience preferably in preschool
- School Administration/Leader Degree Preferred

Salary based on leadership and special education teaching experience
Base Salary - $65,000
