What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Support Specialist position at Early Learning Coalition of Big Bend Region, Inc.?
The Early Learning Coalition of the Big Bend Region, Inc. (ELC) is seeking a committed and dedicated Operations Support Specialist to join the Team. Candidates should embody ELC’s core values: positive attitude, accountability, respect, and teamwork. This position is responsible for providing administrative support that ensures the organization has the proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures to provide the effective delivery of programs and services. This position will report to the Chief Operations Officer.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Provide administrative support to the Operations team
- Assist with the management of facilities for all ELC offices
- Assist with the maintenance and repair of facilities and equipment
- Assist with the coordination of intra-office moves
- Assist with the management of contracted IT company to include scheduling, planning, and strategic IT initiatives
- Assist with community outreach action plans as needed
- Aide with onsite event logistics and site visits as well as coordinate with department members on various projects
- Assist with the coordination of ELC’s volunteer and practicum program
- Research and analyze data and information as needed
- Create reports and documents for use during board and committee meetings
- Schedule meetings, create agendas and record notes
- Assist with clerical tasks including answering and returning phone calls in a timely manner, drafting letters, emails, and other communications
The Early Learning Coalition of the Big Bend Region, Inc. (ELC) is a local non-profit organization with an annual budget of $27 million. ELC’s mission is to provide leadership and advocacy that builds a community where all children are prepared for success in school.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
- Associate degree and 2 years experience in public or private sector, social/human services program administration; or
- High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years experience in social /human services program administration required
- Excellent Communication (verbal and written) skills required
Required Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of executive-level administrative procedures and practices; ability to exercise discretion and judgment in handling a wide variety of confidential work; outstanding customer service skills; attention to detail; high level of attention to detail and expertise in proofreading for grammar and spelling; ability to work independently; excellent interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with colleagues and customers of varying backgrounds and skill levels to achieve program goals; excellent computer skills and experience using Microsoft Office suite; ability to manage multiple projects, follow-through, and meet deadlines.

Salary Range: $30,000 – $35,000 (intended hiring range based on experience)
