Job Posting for Dispatch Supervisor at Earp Distribution
This person is responsible for the daily coordination of drivers within a Team Focused, Customer Focused environment and is the intermediate contact between restaurants, drivers and Earp Distribution. Special responsibility is given to this position in the area of strict compliance with FMCSA regulations, Part 395, which addresses hours of service.

Facilitate driver assignments
Facilitate equipment assignments.
Verify drivers have sufficient hours of service to complete the assigned routes.
Ensure route assignments are entered
Respond to the needs, problems and questions of the drivers, shop and yard personnel.
Anticipate operational issues affecting customer service and plan accordingly.
Act as intermediary between restaurants, drivers and Earp Distribution as issues arise.
Advise restaurants of delays; document on route sheet and shift reports.
When an accident occurs, gather information and assist drivers and law enforcement officers. Ensure proper accident processes are followed including management notification, pictures, complete accident reports and damage inspection.
Coordinate with the shop to assist drivers during breakdowns.
Ensure that vehicle condition reports, trip reports, drivers’ check-in reports and logs are prepared and handled properly.
Conduct post-trip interview with drivers.
Communicate any driver payroll issues to the Transportation Administration Assistant.
Communicate with Shop Management regarding equipment issues.
Coordinate with Warehouse Management regarding load issues.
Perform administrative duties, monitor gate and follow company security procedures, and other duties necessary to provide a superior level of service.
Adhere to all processes set forth by Transportation Management.
Adhere to all federal and state regulations including FMCSA regulations.
Respond promptly and appropriately to restaurant concerns.
Ensure that Transportation Management is kept informed on all critical issues.
Ensure proper flow of information to all transportation personnel, as necessary.
Efficient fleet operations while operating within budgetary considerations.
Work Environment * Usually works from the Dispatch Office setting but may spend time in the warehouse, mechanics’ shop, or truck yard.
Hours vary due to the 24/7 schedule.
Physical Attributes * Able to sit for long periods at a computer, on the phone (sometimes both).
Able to walk on pavement across the truck yard, or on cement floor in the warehouse.
