Summary: This position will be responsible for managing Hamilton’s Café at ARC South. Hamilton’s Café is our food source for ALL ARC events at both locations. The primary goal of the café is to create community, a reason for members and guests to want to sit down, eat, relax and enjoy communicating with our staff and other members. We want to create food events and this person will be responsible for the planning and execution of things like "Taco Tuesday". This person will be the first and last impression that a member has of our club café. This person will be responsible for a cash drawer and for administering transactions for café sales rendered at our facility. The focus is to effectively manage the café in order to maximize member happiness, participation, member growth and retention and club profitability.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Include the following, other duties may be assigned.
- Meet and greet members and guests with a smile! Speak to them in a friendly, positive, and professional manner
- Assisting members and guests in a courteous manner
- Remind members of upcoming events on a daily basis (nag)
- Creating a café environment that runs efficiently
- Help create an environment where members want to enjoy and engage with other members
- Training of all new café staff to procedures and policies, as well as Club Automation
- Work directly with the other departments in the planning and execution of all ARC events, from onset of planning, ordering, staffing, presentation and clean up
- Manage/create the café schedules, including being available to fill in when you can’t find someone to cover a shift
- Create food service at the pool, including staffing (on site and runners) and stocking
- Answer phones in a prompt, courteous manner
- Keep all areas stocked and organized nicely
- Manage/approve café payroll
- Keep menus current for member review
- Ordering all supplies and food products
- Pick up orders or arrange for deliveries
- Manage inventory, including adding new items and reconciling with CA sales reports
- Annual employee evaluations for café employees
- Monitor coffee area and main lobby area (pick up trash, wipe down tables, make sure furniture is straight)
- Keep all equipment clean and serviced at all times
- Tidy up bar stools
- Plants on tables should be in the middle
- Clean the floors in the bar area with hand held cleaner
- Must get Serve Safe Certified, paid for by ARC
- Hiring and training staff
- Creating hours of operation; work hand in hand with GM on this
- Stocking inventory of both food and drinks
- Performing daily and weekly inventories of all products (create a simple inventory system that can be utilized by any café employee)
- Purchasing items, either at local stores or through vendors
- Executing the menu, creating items with beautiful presentations
- Maintain a sanitary environment at all times
- Keep menu current and fully stocked
- Maintain all equipment, communicate to GM if anything not working properly
- Keep all equipment clean at all times
Supervisory Responsibilities (if applicable):
Manager of café will need to supervise all employees in that department
Qualifications

- Must be a minimum of 18 years of age because beer and wine sales are a requirement of the position

Education, Credentials, Certification, and/or Experience
- High level of experience in customer service field; including food prep and/or food service
- Basic skills to navigate on computer and basic office applications
- College degree preferred or one in progress
