What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Estimator position at Earth X?
In this role The Lead Estimator and Client Development manager is responsible for managing the existing client portfolio; developing additional client relationships, budgets, and estimates; ensuring project designs align with construction budgets; and maximizing the scope of work on all landscaping projects. Meticulous budgeting and expectation setting sets the foundation for successful projects. This person also directs and oversees the estimating and client development teams; coordinating resources and training, along with developing policies and procedures for both.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership
- Establish EarthX’s standardized estimating/bidding procedures, methods, and processes.
- Provide leadership and oversight to others involved in the estimating/bidding and client development, ensuring comprehensive training on estimating processes, software programs, industry trends, and access to necessary resources.
- Oversee departmental activities to ensure progress aligns with expected guidelines, and estimates/proposals are completed accurately and on time.
- As necessary, and particularly with new or junior estimators, review the accuracy and completeness of project deliverables before publication.
- Assign estimating staff members to newly acquired projects, ensuring adequate time, staff, and resources are available for each project.
- Guide projects from preconstruction into construction, providing an organized estimate as a roadmap for project success.
- Organize and lead preconstruction meetings with owners and participate in design team meetings, managing the preparation of documents and meeting minutes as requested by Owners/Owners
Mentorship

- Work with preconstruction and executive management to develop proposals, scopes of work, conceptual estimates, and schedules.

Strategic Planning and Budget Management
- Work with executive management to develop annual business and marketing plans, including targets and metrics, based on strategic planning goals.
- Allocate and manage budgets to align with these plans.
- Work with executive management to develop and set budgets and allocate funds for business development and marketing activities and materials that align with the company's vision and strategic positioning.
Work Acquisition
- Responsible for meeting or exceeding annual sales volume goals.
- Identify opportunities in the marketplace and develop strategies, in collaboration with project teams, to secure projects by highlighting EarthX's benefits and unique qualities.
- Lead go/no-go decisions, evaluating each potential opportunity in terms of its alignment with the firm's short and long-term strategic goals, as well as its feasibility.
- Report to the President opportunities and the progress of sales objectives.
Community Relations
- Represent EarthX at the highest level in interactions with clients, community organizations, and business associates.
- Serve as a liaison between clients and the community, fostering positive relationships on our landscaping projects.
- Research and secure opportunities for EarthX teams to present to clients at industry events and conferences.
- Maintain active involvement in prominent professional and community organizations and committees to engage with the community, expand our business network, and enhance our company's reputation.
TECHNICAL SKILLS and TRAINING
- Mastery Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and EarthX internal estimating program(s)
- Mastery Knowledge Construct Connect Software
- Mastery Knowledge of Building Connect Software
- Mastery Knowledge of Sam.Gov program

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
