We are seeking a Field Technician to join our team. As a Field Technician you will join our growing Field Operations team. Working with a Team Lead you will be responsible for assisting in field crop, grassland and timber research, collecting field data using various collection methods.
A Day in the Life…
We work with a diverse team daily. On your first day, along with your Team Lead. We will cover protocols and inspect equipment before driving to our work area. After unloading, we prepare sample bags and labels, and may scan the field with our EMI system. We take extra time to teach proper EMI operation and troubleshooting. We discuss travel, hotel, and dinner plans throughout the day.

Travel: Travel is required approximately 75% of the time
Compensation: The budgeted range starts at $20 to $25. Actual pay will be adjusted based on the candidate's experience and location.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist in field crop, grassland and timber research and collecting field data
- Maintain equipment and transport equipment to field sites.
- Work alongside the Field Team Lead throughout training.
- Travel to research sites in and out-of-state.
- Document processes and best practices
- Operate vehicles and machinery in a safe manner
- Follow company procedures and protocols
- Cooperate with technical teams and share information across the organization
What we are looking for:
- Ability to do physical work in outdoor environments, e.g. collecting soil samples, loading and unloading equipment.
- Ability to travel and to work for some extended periods (up to 10 days) with overnight travel.
- Ability to lift > 50 pounds.
- Ability to operate computers and electronic devices.
- Candidate must be eligible to work in the United States
- Ability to maintain confidentiality; if hired, candidates must sign a non-disclosure agreement.
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

- Preference will be given to candidates who have farm, grassland, timber or field research experience and/or educational credentials in an agronomic or engineering field.
