East Portland Surgery Center is one of Portland’s leading multi-specialty surgery centers, performing cases in pain management, GI, general surgery, orthopedics, cosmetics, ophthalmology, gynecology, ENT & Spine. We are consistently growing our business and are seeking to add a Full Time (FT) Pre-Op & PACU Nurse to our team.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Patient admissions, to include basic screening of patients upon arrival, checking in patients, copying identification and insurance, and communication with Pre-Op nursing staff
- Welcome visitors in a warm and friendly manner, and answer any questions visitors have
- Maintain reception area and all common areas in a clean and tidy manner at all times
- Answer and direct phone calls in a polite and friendly manner, transfer calls to appropriate department / team member, and take messages if necessary
- Performs clerical duties, including distribution of mail and messages, monitoring office supplies & re-stock as necessary, and maintain postage meter
- Keep detailed and accurate records of facility visitors, including basic screening (if required)
- Maintain the general office filing system
- Processing patient payments, and directing patients to billing office if they require further account assistance
- Facilitate chart preparation
- Provide relief to other office team members as required
- May provide help to other Portland area USPI facilities if required
Job Qualifications:
- Experience in providing exceptional customer service to patients, physicians, and team
- High School Graduate or equivalent
- 2 years of experience in a clinical environment preferred
- 2 years of receptionist experience preferred
- Self-motivated, flexible, and able to multi-task and prioritize in a fast paced environment, with the ability to problem solve with minimal direction or guidance
- Proven history as a team player, and also working with little to no supervision
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Prefer experience with medical software programs such as Advantx, Amkai, or Epic
- Efficient use of resources
- Willingness to maintain a clean, organized environment
- Consistent, reliable attendance
- Reliable means of transportation
