- General
This is a full-time, FLSA exempt, position that will report to the IT Manager and interact with all departments of the Company. The responsibilities include the maintenance and administration of Company hardware or software as assigned by the IT Manager. These responsibilities may involve working effectively with outside vendors/consultants/other IT/IS professionals to accomplish. This individual will also be the first point of contact for all IT/IS end user support/help desk functions. Good communication skills are required, and the successful candidate must be able to exhibit the values and culture of the company while working with all levels of the Company in a fast paced/dynamic environment.
- Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides end user support/help desk services relating to the Company’s various information systems as assigned by the Director of Information Services;
- Responsible for setting up/helping end users’ setup new/replacement hardware/software in a manner consistent with Company policy, guidelines, or regulations;
- Assists with keeping current the Company’s Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery Plan (BCP/DRP) to ensure appropriate and regular backup of critical information and data;
- Analyze and recommends to Senior management expenditures of capital hardware and software requests (or assists the departments in doing so) as necessary in support of IT/IS resources;
- Participates in beta testing of applications, hardware/software troubleshooting and fixes / recommends fixes before the production version is rolled out to Company facilities helping to ensure stability and reliability of systems;
- Regularly monitors the IT/IS environment of assigned hardware/software when in production to ensure continued compliance with standards and reliability;
- Assists in development and improvement of processes, procedures, and policies related to IT/IS software/hardware to improve security and identify cost savings;
- Provides input and guidance on implementations of new technology with other departments, to include assessments of feasibility and plans for deployment and support as needed;
- Monitors, implements, or enforces as directed by Senior management elements of the Company’s overall Cybersecurity plan, policies, and procedures to protect against unwanted intervention or loss of information;
- Stays current on latest trends in hardware, software, and related Information System policies, regulations, or best practices and makes recommendations to management for improvements;
- Other duties as assigned by Director of Information Services, CFO, or CEO.
- Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline
- Five (5) or more years’ experience in Information Technology, Information Systems or closely related discipline;
- Previous experience with airline reservation systems, credit card gateway implementations a plus;
- Microsoft certified solutions expert;
- Programming skills (HTML, JAVA, Visual Basic, JSCRIPT, C , or other similar languages) a plus;
- Scripting skills (Powershell for example) a plus;
- Familiarity with Azure Cloud and Microsoft 365 from an admin perspective is preferred
- Ability to learn new technologies as they evolve;
- Ability to communicate effectively; in both oral and written communication
- Ability to work under pressure in a team environment;
- Possess and maintain a valid Driver License and a driving record from the state of your primary residence that meets the Company’s insurance standards;
- Pass a two (2) year drug and alcohol background check, pre-employment drug test, and criminal history records check (CHRC);
- Eligible to work in the United States;
- Must be able to work shifts (sometimes graveyard);
- Some travel may be required.
