POSITION SUMMARY
Perform routine clerical and administrative work in answering telephones, making daily reminder calls for candidate interviews, data processing, record keeping, and providing recruiter assistance with updating job boards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: Because Eastern Shipbuilding is continually growing to meet the needs of our customers, the essential duties and responsibilities may be different than described.
- Regular attendance at work and the ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
- Prepare and process records, documents, correspondence, and other materials of a sensitive nature.
- Answer questions in person and by telephone; respond to inquiries from employees, applicants, and the public. When necessary, refer to the appropriate person, office, or department.
- Maintain job boards (ESG Website, really), talent pipelines, and career outsourcing schedules.
- Identify and lead Community outreach programs.
- Assist the Senior Recruiters and other members of the Human Resource Department with various research projects and/or special projects.
- Assist in pre-employment processing and scheduling as needed.
- Maintain a strong, two-way, communication channel between all teams, stakeholders, and leadership.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Job Requirements
REQUIREMENTS
Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED equivalent with specialized course work in general office practices such as typing, filing, and bookkeeping, plus one or more years’ experience in an administrative/ clerical position. Previous Human Resources experience desired. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Bi-lingual English/Spanish is a plus.
Skills: Intermediate level Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook Express. Ability to read and interpret documents such as general business periodicals, professional documents, or governmental regulations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, applicants, and the public. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form.
