QUALIFICATIONS:
- Have an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing and Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan.
- Must possess knowledge and understanding of co-occurring disorders (mental health and substance abuse); stages of change, phase of recovery and in motivational interviewing enhancement.
- Ability to travel within the service area, provide valid driver’s license and automobile insurance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Administers medication in the clinic setting. Reconcile the sample inventory with the onsite pharmacy.
- Collaborates as part of an interdisciplinary team in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating services for psychiatric, co-morbid, and/or co-occurring psychiatric and substance use disorder consumers.
- Assesses the needs of individuals for medical assistance, takes clinical histories, and refers individuals to a physician when appropriate.
- Works with program psychiatrists in meeting the psychiatric/ medical needs of individuals. Observes the condition of individuals served, and reports any changes or reactions to medications or treatments.
- Documents observations in individual records. Prepares forms and reports, and maintains accurate medical records on assigned individuals as required.
