Leasing Specialist

Primary Responsibilities:

• Receiving/screening phone calls
• Making appointments
• Receiving/screening visitors
• Maintaining confidential files and records
• Maintaining the waiting list of applicants
• Prepare vacant units for presentation
• Respond to resident complaints
• Prepare work orders, following up as necessary with resident and/or maintenance
• Participate in community activities designed for resident retention
• Promote a positive community attitude at all times
• Assist Property Manager as directed. Education: HS diploma or GED Equivalent OR 6 months related experience

Language: Must be fluent in English which includes the ability to:

• Read, analyze, and interpret written communications from supervisor and/or company management, technical procedures, and government regulations.
• Write reports and business correspondence.
• Effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisor, regulatory agencies, clients, customers, tenants, and the general public. Must have the mathematical skills necessary to perform the following tasks: Calculate discounts, interest, commissions, percentages, rent.

Reasoning abilities:

• Ability to solve practical problems in situations where only limited standardization exists
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
• Self-starter with the ability to complete tasks without supervision.Computer proficiency required. A working knowledge of YARDI is preferred.

Physical demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee s occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and detect odors.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

The employee may occasionally work in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee regularly works in an inside office environment where the temperature is controlled, and the noise level is moderate. May be required to walk long distances in outside weather conditions.
