Our client is a large fabrication manufacturer of the highest integrity and quality with more than 50 years experience in the industry. The Metals Grinder will be responsible for grinding and finishing metal components to meet precise specifications and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have experience working with various types of metals and grinding equipment, along with a strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work. What You Will Do
- Operate grinding machines to grind and finish metal components according to specified dimensions and tolerances.
- Inspect workpieces to ensure they meet quality standards and make adjustments as necessary.
- Select appropriate grinding tools and abrasives based on the type of metal being worked on.
- Perform routine maintenance on grinding equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Follow safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment at all times.
- Collaborate with other members of the production team to prioritize work orders and meet production deadlines.
What We Need From You
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Metals Grinder or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of different types of metals and their properties.
- Familiarity with various grinding techniques and equipment, including surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, and belt sanders.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Excellent attention to detail and precision.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
