What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Control Manager position at Eastridge?
Eastridge Workforce Solutions is now hiring a Quality Control Manager to join the team for a Chemical Manufacturing Company that recycles and purify materials for reuse in new products manufactured by other companies.
Supervises and coordinates the activities of personnel engaged in analyzing in-process and finished product samples to ensure compliance with quality control procedures. Coordinates activities related to the implementation of ISO 9001 procedures and serves as management representative.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage, train, develop and mentor the laboratory staff.
- Responsible for the Plant’s Quality System.
- Develop and maintain laboratory Standard Operating Procedures and Standard Working Instructions.
- Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
- Communicates with Corporate Sales to prepare the refinery casting schedule.
- Coordinates the refinery production.
- Evaluate, audit and provide servicing of critical lab test equipment.
- Responsible for analysis using ICP, GC, Carbon and Sulfur Analyzer, XRF and Arc/Spark Spectrometers.
- Responsible to maintain and calibrate all analytical instrumentation.
- Responsible for implementing and monitoring the ISO9001 and ISO14001 management systems.
- Represents the Plant as the Management Representative for the ISO9001 and ISO14001 programs.
- Responsible for the chemical analysis of various process samples, TCLP, Lead, wastewater, slag, dross, etc.
- Develop all laboratory standardized forms for reports and analytical data.
- Responsible for maintaining site SAP receipts and product specification.
- Manager Process Order Information and Technically Complete (TECO) for site in SAP.
- Responsible for budget planning and budget reports.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- 4 year degree in Chemistry or equivalent or equivalent experience
- Good oral and written communication skills (English)
- 2 years college with Science, Math and related courses
- 2-5 years managerial experience
- Excellent PC skills
- ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 awareness preferred
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
- Environmental training applicable to the job
- Safety training for applicable equipment
- Job instructional training
- Quality system familiarization
- ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 awareness. Plant EMS objectives and targets
- Significant plant EMS environmental aspects and impacts
- JTE (Lean manufacturing).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear.
- Is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to toxic, acidic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock.
- Works in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and extreme heat.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate with occasional exposure to high noise levels.
- Must be able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment.
