Job Description
Eataly’s bustling marketplaces feature a rich variety of unique, high-quality Italian and local products. The Grocery Market Manager helps oversee the Grocery and Housewares departments. Reports to the Market Manager of Retail; manages the Market Associates for Grocery and Housewares.
- Assists the Market Manager in organizing and directing the store’s Grocery and Housewares departments to maximize profitability while upholding the company’s mission, values, policies, quality and guest experience standards
- Manages the team members in Grocery and Housewares: hires, schedules, trains, motivates, submits payroll, evaluates
- Assists in creating the monthly promotion grid and designs the layout and promotional spots in the store with saleable merchandise according to Eataly’s policies
- Maintains an orderly store aesthetic: ensures that only saleable merchandise is placed on the grocery shelves and promptly handles deleted, expired or otherwise non-saleable merchandise
- Monitors stock levels and orders or requisitions supplies and merchandise as needed
- Processes delivery orders, unloads stock trucks from distribution centers, and generates monthly reports
- Communicates and coordinates with the Marketing and Facilities departments on updates or issues with the overall layout of product and fixtures in the store
- Helps Market Manager analyze financial data and develops strategies to increase efficiencies and drive sales
- Performs other duties as required or assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 1 year of retail management experience in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Solid analytical skills
- Experience with cash management, purchasing and managing inventory
- Knowledge of Italian products and brands
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office
Job Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and spend up to 8 hours walking or standing in a retail environment
- Ability to operate equipment such as a hand truck or cash register as needed
- Availability to work a flexible schedule sometimes including evenings, weekends and holidays
