Eaton’s Electrical sector is currently seeking an Accountant to join our team. This position is based in Horseheads, NY.
The Accountant will develop, analyze, prepare, and submit general accounting and financial planning information in accordance with required deadlines and corporate policies.

- Develop, analyze, prepare, and submit cost accounting, general accounting and financial planning information in accordance with required deadlines and corporate policies
- Updates and distributes the Daily Operations report
- Reconciles balance sheet accounts in a timely manner
- Prepares a variety of journal entries for input in the corporate general ledger system.
- Analyzes general ledger accounts, as necessary
- Serves as gatekeeper for cycle count program and analyzes variances
- Supports annual physical inventory process
- Participates in cost information for annual cost revision.
- Responsible for updating yearly burden rates, S&O, and Warranty Tac-on templates
- Is an active member of the Inventory Accuracy Team. Assists in variance investigation and provides corrective action suggestions
- Updates and analyzes Material Price Variance report monthly
- Tracks and facilitates capital spending with project owners
- Works closely with project owners to track cost our performance, update the cost out database, and monthly reconciliation
- Processing and handling misc. cash receipt and entries
- Actively work with R&D manager to ensure new product development costs stay within budget

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or in lieu of degree 4 years of accounting or finance experience
- Minimum 1 years accounting experience
- No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Horseheads, NY. will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation
- Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
- Knowledge of Oracle ERP and GL Software
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Excel and Word
- Knowledge of established accounting principles, theories, concepts, and procedures
- Understanding of US GAAP
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
- Knowledge and understanding of (accounting) principles, policies and (business) concepts
- General knowledge of financial systems
- General knowledge of statutory accounting requirements Making decision - decision making techniques to know and apply in practice
