Eaton’s Electrical Division is currently seeking an Assembler on 1st Shift to join our team. This position is based at our Roanoke, VA location. This role starts at $16.18/hr.
Position Overview:
They will be responsible for working on a production line by ensuring that all processes are completed effectively and efficiently and ready to be handed to the next member of the team. Time management, reading technical documents, and having the ability to identify quality control issues are a must.

In this function you will:
- Lift material onto machines, manually or with a hoist
- Document production numbers on a board at station.
- Review purchase orders with manufacturing details, design specifications, and assembly instructions to ensure work is performed according to specifications
- Cut and strip wires according to specifications
- Assemble electrical or electronic systems or support structures and install components, units, subassemblies, wiring, or assembly casings, using pneumatic drills, drivers, rivets, bolts, glue, soldering or micro-welding equipment
- Position, align, or adjust work pieces or electrical parts to facilitate wiring or assembly
- Pack finished assemblies for shipment and place on pick up line for distribution using tape dispenser and safety box cutter
- Fabricate, assemble, or disassemble manufactured products by hand
- Read testing device to ensure quality of product
- Shovel, sweep, or otherwise clean work-stations
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution
- Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
- No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the work location will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation
Preferred Qualifications:
- Building and Construction - Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools.
- Design - Knowledge of tools, drawings, and models.
- Mathematics - Knowledge of arithmetic and its application.
- Mechanical - Knowledge of machines and tools, including their uses.
- Production and Processing - Knowledge of raw materials, production processing, and quality control.
Position Criteria
- Ability to demonstrate working knowledge of the mechanical, electrical, and safety procedures of a manufacturing facility
- Ability to read and interpret standard operating procedures, wiring diagrams and bills of material
- Ability to lift, push and pull 40 lbs
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Repetitive lifting, bending, and squatting is inherent to this position
