Eaton is seeking a Director of Marketing for its Commercial and Residential Distribution Solutions (CRDS) business in the Electrical Sector Americas region.  This role is focused on the Residential and Wiring Devices (RWD) business within CRDS and will be located in Moon Township, PA or Peachtree City, GA.

Essential Functions:

When we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we- as individuals and as a company – are stronger.  The Director of Marketing is responsible for formulating and implementing clear and consistent strategic growth and profit improvement plans for the RWD business via multi-generation product plans, product price positioning decisions, market and competitive analysis and commercial programs to grow share at target customers and channels.  The Director of Marketing works cross functionally with the sales, engineering, marketing operations,  finance, and operations teams to meet annual and long-term financial goals.  This individual must keep abreast of current and future markets, technology, and competitive trends that may impact the long-term success of the business, including adjacent markets that could provide inorganic growth.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Develop the business strategy by analyzing key market trends including competitive products, regulatory and legislative developments and technological advances.
  • Guide and hold accountable Product Line Managers (PLM’s) for execution of the strategic marketing initiatives defined in the CRDS Strategic Plan and the annual Profit Plan.
  • Build and develop talent within the marketing organization through coaching, training, and focus on succession planning.
  • Co-lead new product introduction (NPI) roadmap and execution utilizing Eaton ProLaunch tools to meet changing market needs in a competitive environment.  This involves increasing the value of the product portfolio, introducing differentiable solutions, and filling gaps in the overall product offering while balancing the function and benefits with the product cost and the cost incurred in development/delivery of product offering.   The goal is to maximize growth and profitability with the resources available.
  • Jointly develop a sales growth strategy and programs to increase market share in existing markets and identify and develop new markets.  Collaborate and introduce product/marketing promotions and other sales programs to deliver top-line sales revenue objectives.  Serve as one of the “key faces” of the business, developing relationships with the sales force, the channel and target customers.
  • Focus on effectively increasing margins by balancing objectives of growth and profitability through effective product management (optimal portfolio, product mix, pricing approach, customer targets) to deliver volume, gross margin and return on sales goals. 
  • Drive development in codes and standards by leading national Codes and Standards initiatives and industry relationships for the Residential and Wiring Devices business.
  • Identify inorganic growth opportunities and adjacent markets/offers that we may pursue through acquisition or partnership and cultivate relationships with identified targets.
  • Effectively manage cross-functional interfaces in a manner harmonized with CRDS’ overall operating principles.   Guide direct reports to achieve same balance in the performance of their responsibilities.
  • Maintain and enhance positive working relationships with sales management and the agency base.  Gather VOC, present NPI and facilitate issue resolution as required.
  • Participate and contribute to necessary monthly business processes and initiatives including forecasting, demand planning, employee development, operational alignment, and sales communications

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum Ten years of experience in sales marketing or related position in the electrical industry
  • Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, motivational and leadership skills
  • Minimum Five years managerial experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Company products and industry including an understanding of the technical aspects and applications of the products, legislative/regulatory issues, and channels to market.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced Degree preferred

 

Position Criteria:

  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and insight through tools and applications such as Excel, Power BI, and others.
  • Strong knowledge of residential markets and key intermediaries – channel, contractors, design engineering firms, end customers.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to quickly navigate difficult challenges internally, externally, and within the overall team.
  • Effective time management.
  • Knowledge of EBS processes – Strategic Planning, Profit Planning, Roadmapping, ProLaunch, EBS Pull, and others
