What are the responsibilities and job description for the Master Scheduler position at Eaton?
Eaton’s Vehicle Group is currently seeking a Master Scheduler to join our team at our Kearney, NE facility. Relocation benefits are available for this position.
Position Overview:
The primary responsibility of this position is to: Receive, evaluate, and process customer information (electronic and verbal) related to order releases, shipment logistics, and other customer material planning activities in a manner that promotes customer satisfaction and relationship building while meeting the stated business objectives of 100% on-time delivery (OTD) of customer orders.
In this function you will:
- Receives and processes customer purchase orders and order releases into the Kearney materials planning system in a timely manner that allows the plant to meet its customers’ expected product delivery dates.
- Main point of contact for all customer shipping sites, and responsible for managing relationships between site & customer as needed.
- Carries out activities which develop and/or improve working relationships with the Kearney material planning and logistics customer contacts.
- Owns all activities related to maintaining customer scores greater than 98% for all OEM customers by ensuring no delivery deductions are incurred based on customer requirements.
- Maintains ERP (Oracle) integrity for customer related data including EDI above 97% for efficient operation of the MRP system, and communicates changes to remainder of materials team.
- Maintains all data in customer related systems per requirements to ensure no effect on Eaton’s customer scores.
- Serves as the plant expert on customer web-based systems, reviewing all customer bulletins and communications, dispersing to the appropriate team members, along with ensuring that all customer system requirements are met, including violation disputes, capacity planning, and other items as identified by the customer.
- Provides weekend support on customer systems on a rotational basis with other Materials employees.
- Trained in aspects of other material related functions & provides backup as needed.
- Maintain metrics for Premium Freight, Customer Scores, and others as assigned.
- Member of the plants ERP Health cross functional team to ensure all ERP Health metrics are met each month.
- Responsible for creating or updating work instructions & standard work for any changes that occur with core responsibilities that must be approved by the manager before implementation.
- Must participate in all meetings as dictated in standard work to ensure effective communication plant wide.
- Must maintain filing system for all customer communication to ensure all documentation is properly stored in a manner that is easily searchable if it is needed.
- Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 2 years materials planning or scheduling experience
- Minimum of 1 year of work experience with ERP systems
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Supply Chain Management from an accredited institution
- APICS CPIM, CSCM or CPM certification
- Minimum of 5 years of experience of materials planning or customer scheduling in a manufacturing facility
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with customer relations
- Experienced in materials planning and customer systems such as Oracle ERP, Ford DDL, FCA CSDS, and Covisint
Position Criteria
- Knowledge of materials planning systems (MRP / ERP) and customer order generation process logic including EDI
- Basic concepts of planning and lean material flow Pull systems, Kanban, MRP, Schedule sequencing, level loading, inventory modeling, JIT, etc.)
- Understanding of Materials Management processes surrounding Customer Scheduling, Inventory Management, Materials Planning, and Logistics
- Strong process orientation, analytical, and planning ability
- Professional Customer Service (both internal and external customers)
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
