Eaton’s Information Technology division is seeking an SAP S/4 Lead Developer to join our team. This position will be based at any Eaton facility within the U.S. The position is eligible for a hybrid work setup.
The expected annual salary range for this role is 105,000-154,000 a year.

What you’ll do:
The SAP S/4 Lead Developer will play a crucial role in leading our S/4 technical team supporting our Electrical Sector America's transformation program with a focus on BTP, Fiori, OData, and ABAP technologies. This role will include collaborating with our functional and development consultants, architects, developers, business stakeholders, and the PMO team to plan, coordinate, and execute successful technical solutions while ensuring alignment with business objectives.
The ideal candidate for this position will have experience in analyzing complicated business processes and creating/reviewing Technical Specifications, as well as expertise in complete end-to-end interface scoping, documentation, development, design, implementation, and support. Furthermore, this candidate will provide technical strategy and supporting IT frameworks to guide successful design, deployment, and operations of IT solutions; project-based; work is done independently but is reviewed at critical points.
- Plan for future-state technology portfolios and IT program investments
- Develop, communicate, and deploy architecture governance processes
- Drive the application of emerging technologies to current Eaton environments
- Drive solution architecture, ensure technical alignment and facilitate technical solution delivery
- Accountable for maintaining high levels of solution performance, availability and capacity, demonstrating a commitment to quality.
- Works within Eaton's IT Organization to successfully influence the direction of key technical elements of the solution environment
- Support and Execute on strategic plans
- A "clean core" approach to all development in a purposeful way by utilizing BTP
- Actively engage with Product / Platform owners , Users, System Analysts, Architects, PMs and Development Engineers in reviewing and analyzing requirements/user stories (both functional and technical requirements).
- Strong ABAP experience working on RICEFW and S4 Hana
- Act as the technical expert, ensuring quick turnaround in identifying application issues and providing timely solutions.
- Develop detailed plans and accurate estimates for completion of build, system testing and implementation phases of project.
- Transform business function requirements into technical program specs to code, test and debug programs.
- Develop, code, document and execute unit tests, systems, integration and acceptance tests and testing tools for functions of high complexity.
- Perform performance tuning to improve performance over multiple functions
- Engage other technical team members in the design, delivery, and deployment of solutions.
- Ensure integration system activities including monitoring the technical architecture (particularly scalability, availability and archiving) meet all SLA's.
Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 5 years of IT (information technology) experience
- Minimum of 5 years experience in enterprise level integrations using SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform) Integration Suite or Cloud Platform Integration.
- This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in designing and implementing Integration solutions using SAP BTP Integration Suite including Event-driven approach (Event Mesh / Advance Event Mesh), API First approach (APIM, API Security/ OAuth 2.0 based authentication, API Gateway, API Business Hub), Open Connectors, Gateway, Cloud Connector etc.
- Experience influencing and managing system integrators
Skills:
- Strong object orientation experience
- Strong analytical skills and ability to write technical specifications
- Manage operational support, performing work during change windows as well as providing on call support as required by the team.
- Undertake performance tuning activities for SAP integration activities.
- Provide consulting services on new and existing initiatives.
- Ensure compliance to Eaton standard processes (Scrum Guide, Agile Values & Principles, DevOps, ITSM and tools) to bring consistency in deployment of developed solutions
- Train and mentor team members on S/4 and SAP technologies
- Drive Continuous improvement initiatives related to processes or policies impacting the Platforms /Products /projects/enterprise
