The Position – Generator TechnicianWe are seeking an experienced and motivated Generator Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience in residential, commercial, and industrial generator systems. The day-to-day responsibilities of the Generator Technician include:
· Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnose and repair generators and electrical systems, including portable units (8kW) to larger systems (1.5mW).
· Load Banking Services: Perform load banking in accordance with NFPA 110 standards to ensure optimal generator performance.
· Code Compliance: Ensure all work adheres to relevant Electrical Codes and Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) requirements.
· Switchgear Maintenance: Troubleshoot and repair various types of switchgear, ensuring reliability and safety.
· Customer Communication: Prepare detailed maintenance and repair descriptions, and provide second mile service by advising customers on necessary repairs and upgrades.
· Collaboration: Work effectively with team members and communicate clearly with customers regarding service options and timelines.
Key Characteristics of the Generator Technician· Technical Expertise: Proficient in the installation, maintenance, and repair of residential, commercial, and industrial generator systems. Relevant certifications are a plus.
· Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills: Demonstrates exceptional ability to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently, ensuring minimal downtime for generator systems. Ability to think critically and navigate complex technical problems with ease and accuracy.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team: Demonstrates strong self-motivation and the capability to complete tasks in a timely manner while also collaborating effectively with team members.
· Strong Communication Skills: Able to clearly and concisely convey complex thoughts both verbally and in writing, actively listen and understand others' perspectives, fostering open dialogue and collaboration.

PayJob Type: Full-time
Pay: Competitive hourly rate commensurate with experience
Bonuses: Pay for performance bonuses paid quarterly based on job profitability
Vacation and Holiday· 1 week of Paid Time Off (PTO) during the week between Christmas and New Years
· 6 major holidays paid
· 7 days Paid Time Off (includes both vacation and sick time); employees receive 12 days of PTO after 5 years of service.

Minimum RequirementsThe Generator Technician shall meet the following minimum requirements:
· Valid driver’s license with own reliable transportation
· 5-10 years of experience with residential, commercial, and industrial generators.
· Manufacturer certifications are required.
· Knowledge of NFPA and Electrical Code standards is essential.
· ESGA Certification is preferred.
· Journeyman or Master Electrician license preferred.
· Diesel ASE Certifications are favorable.
· Must be able to pass background and drug test
