BRING ON THE BEAUTY AT EBEN EZER LUTHERAN CARE CENTER!
Primary Job Purpose: Providing a full range of beautician services to Eben Ezer neighbors. Including, but not limited to; haircuts, shampoos/sets, permanents, coloring, manicures and pedicures, in accordance with currently approved methods and practices applicable to the beautician’s specialty and Eben Ezer’s neighbors.
Customer Service: Adherence to the MOSES program to include Mission, Ownership, Success, Excellence, and Service.
Essential Job Functions:
- Practice the Values, the Mission, and Philosophy of Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center.
- Schedule neighbor salon appointments, and communicate this schedule with other Care Team Partners by posting a schedule at least weekly and by calling Care Team daily to confirm appointments.
- Maintain the beauty shop in a clean and safe manner.
- Maintain adequate supplies to provide necessary services by reordering when supply is low, and tracking inventory, while staying within budgeted allocations.
- Keep accurate records of services provided and charges to be turned into the business office for billing.
- Transport neighbors to and from the beauty shop when they are unable to get to appointments themselves or provide services in their rooms.
- Must be able to communicate with family members and neighbors to learn style preferences.
- Document services provided in EMR system as an activity.
- Provide services for Memory Care neighbors in order to maintain their comfortability and style.
- Assist Activity Coordinators as time permits.
- Must maintain confidentiality of all work-related information according to HIPAA regulations.
- Assure neighbors’ rights, privacy, and HIPAA regulations are followed.
- Must be able to push/pull up to 250 pounds regularly using a wheelchair. Must be able to lift 0-50 pounds regularly by self and 50 pounds occasionally with assistance.
- In addition to the responsibilities described above, the role may include other responsibilities and duties as assigned on occasion, based upon Eben Ezer needs or requirements.
Qualifications, Education, and Experience: Must be a licensed beautician in the State of Colorado. Must be able to stand for long periods of time and perform customary duties of a beautician. Must be able to bend, stoop, and reach as required in the daily course of work. Must have the ability to work as part of a team and maintain a positive attitude. Experience working with older adults is preferred. Current CNA certification is preferred, but not required.
Required Experience/Skills: Must manage time well and be flexible so that neighbors can be re-scheduled if they refuse to come at their scheduled time or are ill. Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing and cooperate with many departments. Schedule beauty shop appointments so that all neighbors who request this service are being accommodated either by coming to the shop or receiving the service in their room.
Material and Equipment used, but not limited to: Sheers, electric clippers, chair lift, hair dryers, curling irons, and chemicals normally found within a beauty shop environment. As well as telephone, calculator, copier, and fax machine.
Working Environment/Physical Activities: Working in a beauty shop as well as throughout the community, including resident rooms. Sits, stands, bends, walks, reaches, lifts, pushes neighbors in wheelchairs, and moves intermittently during working hours. Employee may be subjected to hostile and emotionally upset neighbors and/or families.
Working Hours: Position requires working M-F, some weekends, and some holidays as scheduled. Schedule may vary, based on needs and supervisor discretion.
