Overview
The President and CEO serves as the chief executive of the Ebenezer Society and in partnership with the Ebenezer Board and is responsible for the success of Ebenezer. Together, the Ebenezer Board and the President/CEO assure Ebenezer’s relevance to the community, the accomplishment of Ebenezer’s mission and vision and the accountability of Ebenezer to its diverse constituents and Fairview Health Services.
The Ebenezer Board delegates responsibility for management and oversight of day-to-day operations to the President/CEO and has the authority to carry out these responsibilities in accordance with the affiliation agreement with Fairview Health Services. The President/CEO provides direction and enabling the Board as it carries out it governance functions on behalf of the Ebenezer Society and it's affiliate Fairview Health Services.
In addition to the roles and functions of this position as it relates to Ebenezer Society, the President and CEO oversees the operations of Fairview Partners and functions as the system liaison with AccentCare-Fairview Home Care and Hospice and the Fairview Post-acute provider network. In this capacity the President/CEO ensures the delivery of consistently high levels of quality of care and services across Fairview Senior Services, ensures clear strategic and tactical planning consistent with the mission and strategic direction of Senior Services in support of Fairview’s broader mission.
Responsibilities/Job Description
Provides oversight of the operation of Ebenezer in coordination with the Board of Directors and Fairview Health Services:
- Ensures planning and continuous evaluation of processes and systems and ensures that strategies are consistent with the organizations mission and policy
- Ensures the organization’s fiscal function, growth and performance to drive margin to sustain the mission and vision
- Participates in and helps lead actions which promote the development of an integrated health services delivery system that effectively leverages Ebenezer
- Drives Ebenezer’s and Fairview’s strategic planning and actively participates in budgeting processes to develop business goals and objectives aligned with the organization’s values and mission Provides oversight and direction in the development and implementation of effective operational plans in support of the organizations’ s mission and strategic plans
- Collaborates with other system functions and entities to achieve operational and clinical improvements
- Actively develops, designs, and supports an organizational climate of accountability that promotes creativity and responsiveness to challenges and opportunities
- Provides oversight and direction as necessary to the Ebenezer Foundation staff and/or other philanthropy functions
Fosters strong relationships throughout the care system, the senior services marketplace, and the community:
- Actively engages and maintains strong relationships with industry trade associations and acts as a liaison with the senior services community building relationships with peer organizations as appropriate
- Assures the organization and its mission and services are consistently presented in a strong, positive image to relevant stakeholders
- Actively leads legislative and political initiatives aimed at strengthening public and private support of senior services
- Effectively recruits, trains, and motivates an operations team which contributes to the achievement of organization and system goals and objectives
- Cultivates and elevates relationships within the Fairview system and effectively promotes Ebenezer a valuable partner in integrated health services delivery
- Serve as a Fairview representative on the AccentCare Fairview Board of Directors
- Maintains a working knowledge of Fairview Partners programs, payment models and structure
- Supports Fairview Partners leadership in the development of strategic plans and operational excellence
Designs and creates the development, communication and implementation of effective growth strategies and processes:
- Assists in identifying and evaluation of growth opportunities that support the organization’s strategic goals
- Assists in new development and contract acquisition analysis phase and interacts with internal and external partners to develop the business plan
- Evaluates and advises on the long-term planning of new programs and strategies
- Ensures due diligence and evaluation of project implementation and ongoing financial and operational performance
- Assists the development of Ebenezer’s continuum throughout the care system markets including the analysis and construction of senior services products such as skilled nursing facilities, assisted living, senior housing, and related products
- Implements the development of care model designs for defined senior population using innovative programming aimed at transitional care and community-based support models impacting how seniors utilize Fairview/Ebenezer services
- Implements the development of clinical capabilities to expand core competencies in community-based nursing to transition care institutional models focused on excellent outcomes and quality measures
- Develops and ensures strong business relationships that enable further portfolio development and growth
Creates and maintains a highly effective and engaged Board of Directors focused on mission, vision, values, and fiscal responsibility:
- Engages Board in strategic decisions and inspires the community and board related to the mission and vision of Ebenezer
- Recognizes the power of complementary skills on the Board and leverages these to support Ebenezer’s growth
- Provides exposure to Ebenezer’s executive team and encourages Board members to advise key managers on issues tie to their specific areas of expertise

Education:
- Bachelors degree
Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of healthcare experience to include Senior Services
- Minimum of 7 years of leadership experience

- Master's degree in business or health administration
