Overview
We are looking for a Senior Chef at The Sanctuary of Brooklyn Center! This culinary role is responsible for ensuring that meals are prepared and presented in accordance with applicable regulations and senior age resident expectations. Cook Position works on a team with Server/Culinary Assistants at our Brooklyn Center, MN location. This culinary leader position schedule includes;
- 80 hours every two weeks, 10 hour shifts
- Full time, day and early evening shifts; 8-6:30pm and 6am-430pm
- Includes every other weekend and holiday rotations

The Sanctuary of Brooklyn Center is managed by Ebenezer, Minnesota’s largest senior housing operator. We are located near public transportation and crossroads of I-694, I-94 and Highway 100 in Brooklyn Center, MN. Responsibilities/Job Description
Preparation of meals by following standardized recipesHandles and prepares food in a safe manner following policies and infection control and safety standards.Ensure timely production and meal service is provided to residentsSet up line serviceClean and sanitize equipment and work area after each useAssists with special eventsConduct customer service rounding to gain feedback from residents on meals and service providedSupervise kitchen staff to include duties such as; training, coaching, accountability for staff and their work performance, assist with performance evaluations and scheduling of staff
Qualifications
Required:
- Serv Safe certification, or acquired within 90 days of start date
- 1-3 years of related experience (i.e. scratch, high volume, culinary, chef, assistant chef)
- Basic math skills and comfortable using Microsoft applications
- Strong problem solving and time management skills/experience
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Must be 18 years of age or older
Preferred:
- High School Diploma/GED preferred
- Food service vocational/technical education or training preferred
- Training, supervisory, leadership work experience or education preferred
- Ability to work effectively in a supervisory role or must be comfortable working in a supervisory capacity
