Thank you for considering Ebenezer's 2023 Summer Nurse (RN) Internship! We are offering a competitive paid RN student Nursing Internship for up to 10 weeks (end of May- Aug 13, 2023) to work at one of our vibrant sub-acute Skilled Nursing Care Centers in Minnesota. Ebenezer's Internship program provides an individualized educational experience tailored to meet your nursing career goals. As a nurse intern, you will be mentored one-on-one with registered nurses to gain hands-on nursing experiences to enhance your technical, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills in a TCU sub acute /LTC healthcare setting.
This student nurse intern position is located in the TCU/LTC units at Ebenezer Ridges Care Center, which is part of a full continuum of care campus including Transitional Care Unit TCU, Long term care, Intergenerational Child Care, Enhanced Care and Assisted Living/Memory Care. Located across the street from Fairview Ridges Hospital at the I-35E and I-35W split in Burnsville, MN we are excited to announce that we were recently awarded "Best Nursing Homes recognition by US News for Long Term Care and Short Term Rehabilitation"

* Position will work a minimum of 28-32 hours a week and can work a max of 40 hours each week.
* May require a weekend rotation.
* Exact shifts to be determined; either straight days, straight evenings or if so desired straight nights.

Responsibilities/Job Description
There's so much to gain:
* Real-world experience under the guidance of RN mentors at Ebenezer Transitional Care and Long-term care units
* Hands-on experience in a variety of areas, including patient assessment, interventions, and care planning.
* May manage maintenance medications under direct supervision of RN (if location/policy allows)
* Opportunities to work with nurses and other health care professionals in a variety of roles and patient care settings
* Opportunities to increase self confidence in patient care
* Preferential status for employment upon graduation with RN degree.
Qualifications
* Applicants must be currently enrolled in an accredited RN nursing program and will graduate by Dec 2023 or Spring/Summer 2024.
* Applicants will have completed their junior year in an accredited nursing program by the start of Nurse internship and cannot have an RN licensure while in internship job
* Have current BLS/CPR for healthcare providers certification by start date
* If a new employee, must be able to attend mandatory Ebenezer NEW and nursing orientation (currently in Edina) on their first week (typically 4-5 days)
* Must be enrolled in an internship course at a Minnesota based school of nursing for Summer 2023
* Ability to work with a diverse population and teams at our skilled nursing facility
* Ability to communicate effectively with empathy and have compassion for others
* Desire to support sub-acute and geriatric patients as an intern and ideally work in this setting as a new graduate nurse RN
* 3.0 GPA is strongly preferred
Prefer: previous experience working in a patient/resident support role
