Job title: PRODUCTION TEAM LEADER

Essential Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned and changed as needed):
· Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency.
· Assure that all products are built to the highest standard of quality.
· Assure that the production goals are met.
· Maintain a constant visual on work being done and raw materials being used throughout the day.
· Assure that work practices are in the guidelines of OSHA standards.
· Ensuring that all components are correct for what is on the daily production schedule.
· Responsible for passing information to the workers on their line from the preceding day and to inform them of what is planned for the day. At the start of the shift, make necessary adjustments based on absentees.
· Communicating with all supervisors to let them know how the line is running and making them aware of any problems that have occurred.
· Keeping a count of production numbers throughout the shift and turning in final number of produced goods at the end of the day.
· Entering daily production records and service requests into electronic formats, including but not limited to email, CMMS, Karty U, FlySprayin realtime.
· Checking quality on the line and turning in a check list of what pieces or components were checked and any problems that were found and what action was used to correct them.
· Checking quality of all materials within the production process
o Report any quality issues to the quality department
o Continuously work towards improving of the quality of the product
· Responsible for completing corrective actions for reported quality defects before deadline given by GBSJ
· Making sure that all reject cards and buyer claims are completed by end of shift.
· Turning in all time & attendance forms, PTO forms and court notes to Administrative Support Department at the end of shift.
· Ensures production workers assigned remain compliant with all EBI’s policies, procedures, and practices and provides employees directive for daily tasks and for performance improvement.
· Maintaining all training for self and members of team through EOD application.
o Responsible for checking the training status of their employees
· Actively facilitates, advises, and delivers corrective actions in coordination with other members of the management team and the Human Resources Department.
· Provides information and assesses Production Workers performance for probationary and annual evaluations.
· Assists in the on-boarding process of new hires, transfers, and promotions inclusive of attending interviews and observations, and training and orientation.
· Maintaining and enforcement 5S continuously throughout work area by following Lean Practices.
· Responsible for completing corrective actions for reported Express/5S Audits noncompliance within designated time frame.
Primary Objectives
· Completing all tasks as delegated by the supervising authority.
· Ensuring that the team is working efficiently throughout the day.
· Effectively managing time and meeting all specified deadlines.
· Complying with the industry standards and safety regulations of working.
· Work as part of the team.
· Train line workers as changes are made on safety policies and procedures.
· Verification of standards in all formats paper and electronic, provide feedback
when updates are required due to process changes.
Requirements
· Physical ability to bend, stoop, stand and repetitively lift, push, pull 50 or more lbs continuously throughout assigned work shift.
· High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
· 2 or more years manufacturing and production experience preferred.
· Knowledge of IKEA’s standards and requirements.
· Ability to read and comprehend instructions / directions.
· Ability to do basic addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, and measurement using whole numbers, decimals, and fractions.
· Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
· Basic experience with Microsoft applications, data entry, email and scanning technology.
· Ability to speak effectively before groups employees and provide clear, brief, and accurate guidance and instruction consistent with EBI’s policies and practices.
· Ability to communicate professionally, respectfully, effectively, in manner that promotes growth, and achievement of daily task.
· Ability to work with difficult employee personalities and learning abilities without loss of one’s own professional demeanor.
· Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form and instruct line staff on related production methods, goals, and standards.
· Ability and desire to perform other duties as assigned as it relates to the scope and nature of our business.
· Ability to transfer as needed to another shift and / or department.
· OT is on voluntary basis however this position requires working 42.5 hours weekly which will result in 2.5 hours of overtime weekly. By signing this job description, I consent to work at least 2.5 hours OT weekly. If more OT is required TL’s are expected to work these hours.
· Ability to correctly advise employees on policies and procedures related to their dept.
