Job Summary:

The Subscription Services Division of EBSCO Information Services (EIS), located in Birmingham, AL, is seeking a Manager for the Academic Research Team for our Publisher Operations Group. We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable, independent self-starter with an excellent work-ethic who wants to be challenged and grow. The Manager will have the opportunity to work with our domestic and international EBSCO team members.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of approximately 8 people responsible for working with Academic publishers to maintain their catalog of products and services within EBSCO’s product file
  • Analyze information and processes and develop more effective or efficient processes and strategies
  • Regularly review team performance; collaborate with them on improvement initiatives and objectives
  • Hire, train, motivate and coach employees as they provide attentive, efficient service to offices, assessing employee performance and providing helpful feedback and training
  • Foster a growth mindset in all employees
  • Frequently review reporting/KPIs to measure quality and performance factors
  • Assist with special projects and analysis as needed


Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5 years continuous office experience in a corporate or academic setting
  • Ability to work with all levels of management
  • 1 years managing / working in a large project team type of environment
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint


Essential Job Functions:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills


Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with AppSheet
  • Experience with Tableau
