Position Overview:
- Consultants with at least 5 years of experience and direct experience working on personalization, strong content structure, content modeling, or decoupled content.
- The Content Operations & Engineering team is a close knit, dedicated group of professionals with a passion for digital content strategy, management, and design.
- Empower internal content creators to craft and deliver effective content consistently and at scale, with the belief that great digital products rely on great content experiences.
- Are a team of 7 plus members who work with cross-functional product teams to deliver high quality digital products and services for clients.
- As a Content Engineer, will help to define the content strategy and delivery framework for digital solutions in client portfolio.
- Are a key member of a digital product team, working alongside software engineers, UX and UI designers, researchers, creative strategists, and fellow content engineers, among others.
- The work accelerates the efforts to be the top destination for clients and the families who come to client for guidance in setting a vision for the future.
- Will help these clients and make those goals more attainable.
Responsibilities:
- Content and Metadata Modeling:
- Develop and refine structured content and metadata models in the form of authoring templates, implementation specs, or other documentation to enable delivery of new client-facing features.
- Map the components of structured content and metadata throughout the delivery pipeline, ensuring alignment and data integrity from content creation to feature development to end user interaction.
- Work directly with engineers to integrate content into their work, assisting with API calls and debugging, and developing content structures that allow efficient retrieval while supporting maintainability and reusability in the CMS.
- Content Management and Workflow:
- Contribute to the development of workflows and processes for creating and maintaining the content of the product over time.
- Be the voice of the content creator at Client, ensuring that content workflows, lifecycles, and supporting tools are sustainable over the life of the product.
- Content Strategy and Design:
- Synthesize user needs and business requirements to contribute to a clear, scalable strategy for deploying information about colleges and careers in all forms-text, media, and data-across the digital products.
- Design, test, and implement effective and innovative content-driven digital experiences in the products, in collaboration with UX/UI design and research.
- Determine when and how to leverage the use of structured content and implement content management solutions to support delivery of key information to the users.
Qualifications:
- 4 - 5 years' experience designing content or data models and workflows for digital products.
- Experience using an enterprise content management system like Drupal is preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, including using data to inform recommendations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and an ability break down complex concepts for a non-technical audience using data, words, and visualizations.
- Strong negotiation skills and a willingness to collaborate and find middle ground.
- A self-starter mentality - Enjoy getting into the weeds, untangling complex ecosystems and learning new technologies.
- Proven ability to build relationships and influence others to action.
